A Look at Tamamo Figures - Fate
An overview of the Tamamo figurines (Fate)
When we first looked into Tamamo's backstory, it seemed like one of the craziest origins of the hundreds of Fate maids that have been created. On the surface, she looks like a fox girl, which isn't unusual in Japanese anime culture. But then we discovered she has nine tails, and after 1,000 years of training, she removed eight of them, all of which became those of other Tamamos, forming the Nine Tamamos. And all of them are powerful Heroic Spirits, including Caster (Tamamo-no-Mae) and Berserker (Tamamo Cat). That part seemed a little bizarre. But then again, other characters in the Fate franchise have alternate versions of themselves due to existing in alternate universes. And then there are the cases of clones and homunculi. And then there are the Alter versions. Overall, at least Tamamo's origin explains how nine different characters who look like her can all come from one source and live in one universe.
And by dividing her spirit into nine beings, each with different characteristics, some excellent collectible figurines were created. In less than half a decade, more than a dozen of them have been available on the TOM store. While she's been portrayed in many ways, her basic aesthetic is easy to love. And we're so happy to be able to highlight a few of these figurines in this article!
Caster of Fate/Extra CCC: Casual Wear version (rebroadcast)
Among the figures we could mention here, we chose the one made by FLARE and sculpted by French Doll. It's Tamamo-no-Mae in her casual outfit! How can you not instantly fall in love with the way she's presented in this figure? The outfit pays homage to a look Tamamo wore in Fate/Extra CCC , so she holds a special place in the heart of Fate . Unlike other Casters in the franchise, Tamamo doesn't have an ostentatious oversized weapon that makes her iconic. Instead, you know it's her because of her ears and tail. The surface of her tail has so many spikes, giving the impression of high-quality anime fur. The sculpted waves in her hair have a similar effect, so the two go very well together. Her beauty is part fashion, part feminine form, with a striped hoodie cut open to reveal a nicely tight bosom. The package is completed with sexy black thigh-high stockings. Yowza! Then there's the adorable way she forms a paw with one hand and makes a sideways peace sign with the other. No wonder this girl was brought back for fans in replays. But note that some critics found her hair to be a brighter pink than it appears in the pictures. Some customers didn't like this, while others had no problem with it.
Fate/Grand Order Berserker/Tamamo Cat 1/7 Scale Figure
We couldn't make this list without showing some love to Berserker! The Tamamo Cat figure is truly a chance to let her more animalistic side shine. No need to fake a paw this time, Tamamo—now you have real paws, and they're huge compared to your human body parts! While her animal parts are beautifully painted and shaded, those aren't the only amazing features we appreciate about this piece. We also love Tamamo Cat's dress, which is very similar to her Class Caster look, but in an eye-catching red color. And then there's the style of her hair. Instead of two tails, she's tied her hair into a ponytail. Tamamo Cat's strands are much straighter and spikier than Tamamo-no-Mae's and look a bit wilder overall. Meanwhile, Tamamo Cat's facial expression personifies her pure, joyful side. This, along with the way she runs, proves that she just wants to have fun!
Fate/Extella Tamamo no Mae Tail Maid Strike Ver. Non-Scale Figure
It's Tamamo-no-Mae in a maid outfit! Another adorable figure we're so excited to write about. We have Union Creative and sculptor Minheru to thank for bringing us this article. Unlike the first figure we talked about, Tamamo's ears and tail are much smoother in appearance. She has a cute blushing smile sculpted into her wide-eyed face, which we'd stare at more if our eyes weren't magnetized by her incredible chest. Sexier features have also been included, with exposed thighs leading to thigh-high stockings. And the fox ear pose she makes with her hand is a nice touch. Overall, fans seem to really enjoy her look in a French maid costume, as the reviews left behind suggest.
Tamamo no Mae: School Uniform Ver. Fate/Extella 1/6 Scale Figure
Is it just us, or have Tamamo's breasts grown exponentially? No complaints here! Joking aside, this is a fantastically sculpted and painted product by Phat! and sculptor Yusuke Masaki. Tamamo has a calm, pleasant smile on her face in this sculpt and she's looking upwards, toward us. We rarely see a figure posed like she is here, kneeling with her hands on the ground. But considering her background as a spirit animal, it suits her perfectly. This figure also sports our favorite hair of the four figures featured. We loved the sheer gradient all the way to the ends of her hair. And, as mentioned earlier, her breasts look fabulous. That open schoolgirl top is a lot of fan service to manage.
