Abigail Williams and Lavinia Whateley – Fate/Grand Order – Amakuni

Abigail Williams and Lavinia Whateley – Fate_Grand Order – Amakuni

Before I go back to lazy mode, I'm going to tell you about Abigail and Lavinia from Amakuni.

These are actually my first Fate/Grand Order figures. I bought these two for a silly reason, not because I knew their arc in the game, but because the two figures can hold hands, I really like character combinations like that. I had already bought the Nishikino Maki x Yazawa Nico – ALTER Valentine's Day Hen, because they were combined in such an adorable way.

However, I purchased Abigail Williams and Lavinia Whateley as separate orders, luckily they were released on the same day. Both figures were made by Amakuni, and were released in January at the same time. Both were sculpted by I-con and are 1/7 scale, with Lavinia standing 22 cm tall and Abigail standing 22.5 cm tall.

Both figures have an extra arm for the holding hands option and a less extended arm to display separately, Abigail also comes with a second head, but I just noticed she has a closed mouth, I hadn't noticed that until now teheee!

Lavinia and Abigail were sold as limited and exclusive items through Hobby Japan's distribution channels. I purchased each figure for 15,800 yen and paid 5,480 yen for their combined shipping.
Abigail Williams is based on the historical figure Abigail Williams, who was involved in the Salem witch trials. She was not burned at the stake, but her testimonies lead to the misery of others.

Abigail is a real historical figure while Lavinia comes from the H.P. Lovecraft universe, so of course her story there is creepy and yucky. In her original story, Lavinia is described as being downright ugly, but as a bishoujo-style character, I really love her, maybe even a little more than Abigail.
Sure, she's pale as paper with dark circles under her eyes and she has small iris eyes, but in her beautiful dark dress, she looks really classy and pretty. Abigail has a lively expression on her face, with long blonde hair parted in the middle so that her forehead is revealed. She has big, pretty blue eyes, her mouth open with a line of upper front teeth visible, overall her face is very cheerful.
She alternatively has a head with a closed mouth, unfortunately I haven't used it yet.

In contrast to this little ray of sunshine, her friend Lavinia looks downright gloomy and at least slightly nervous.
She has fine, glossy purple hair, her forehead covered by deep, hanging bangs.
She also has big eyes but the small iris inside them gives the character a creepy appearance, her mouth is very detailed but doesn't really show much happiness, but I'm sure Lavinia is a good girl nonetheless.

I really like the gothic style, and it's really cool to see how Amakuni adapted the style for the game and made it fantastic. The character designs of each girl have a lot in common, but the characters look extremely different from each other. This kind of difference is quite beautiful when the two are combined while holding hands.
The outfits of both characters seem very close to gothic, over her skirt Lavinia wears a vertically ribbed sweater, around her neck and shoulders it is painted half transparent, which is supposed to imitate a floral lace pattern, a detail that I really like is the collar.

Abigail wears a black ribbed bell-shaped dress decorated with numerous black ribbons, the edge of the dress is adorned with numerous black butterflies. The sleeves are much too long and we cannot see Abigail's hands, however the dress is so short that her panties are visible.
Before taking pictures I tried to dust her dress a little but the opposite effect of what I wanted happened and her dress acted like a dust magnet for the dust brush as you will see in some pictures, sorry about that.

Lavinia's teddy bear is damaged, while Abigail's is intact. In her hair, Lavinia has a black polka-dotted ribbon, like the ones Abigail wears countless times. Abigail also has cheerful orange ribbons; I guess she's the most cheerful of these girls. Lavinia has bold, shiny red shoes that go very well with the elegant black dress and add a bit of mature charm. Compared to Abigail's outfit, Lavinia also shows off her body shape more obviously… Abigail is dressed more like a little girl in comparison.

I'm very happy with both figures, they are just adorable together.
