Synopsis

“Is this really a massage?!”
First-year high school student Sota starts working part-time at his family's bathhouse as a back scrubber, but he's in for a surprise when his classmate Aoi starts visiting the bathhouse in disguise and he has to scrub her back! Things get even steamier when she opts for a slimming massage that borders on ecchi! Will she find out that Sota scrubbed her? A clumsy boy-girl romance behind a red curtain begins!

Background

The anime adaptation Araiya-san! Ore to Aitsu ga Onnayu de!? is based on the manga Asoko Araiya no Shigoto: Kataomoi Chū no Aitsu to Onnayu by Toyo. The manga is being serialized on the ComicFesta website and other digital sources.

The anime is directed by Mitsutaka Noshitani of Bagic Bus, with Kazuhiro Toda writing the script and Nanashi designing the characters and acting as chief animation director. The opening theme song is "Renai Sen Session," performed by Ai Kitano and Ayaka Igasaki as their respective characters. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 7, 2019.

Aoi Yuzuki (Voice of: Ai Kitano)

A first-year high school student and champion of the girls' volleyball team, she always treats Sota harshly, but deep down, she has feelings for him.

Sōta Tsukishima (Voice of: Kaina Honma)

Sota is a weak member of the men's volleyball team. He always fights with Aoi. His family runs a public bathhouse, but he keeps it a secret from his teammates.

Mei Sasakura (Voice of: Ayaka Igasaki)

Captain of the women's volleyball team, Mei may appear modest and kind, but she also has a lively side. Keen to maintain her curvy figure, she takes a keen interest in slimming massages.

Hidemoto Takasugi (Voice of: Tetsuto Furukawa)

Captain of the men's volleyball team, Hidemoto is both popular and highly respected by his teammates.
