Vocaloid

Shimoda voices the Vocaloid characters Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len. This role has made her a household name among Vocaloid fans, and she often attends Vocaloid events to meet her fans. Shimoda was chosen for the role because, at the time, she was singing for the game characters Ami and Mami Futami from THE IDOLM@STER , and Crypton immediately noticed. They told her that her voice made them feel "yellow."
Shimoda believes that recording for the Kagamine twins required much more concentration than a typical dubbing role. They recorded about four hours a day, five days a week, and she often fell asleep repeating the same words over and over for long periods of time.
At previous Hatsune Miku concerts, Shimoda appeared on stage as a special guest and asked questions from the audience, as well as chatted with other Vocaloid voice actors about various topics such as the behind-the-scenes process and how being the voice of a Vocaloid affected their lives.
At first, her reaction to Vocaloid's popularity was surprising, as she wasn't sure how the technology would be received due to its novelty. A few months after Kagamine's software was released, she saw hundreds of songs featuring her voice appear and felt grateful. Among the songs that appeared was "Rin Rin Signal" by Signal-P, which she enjoyed so much that she covered it. She now regularly checks for new songs and says it makes her "heart race," which is why she still sings popular songs at events.
Looking back at past events, Shimoda becomes very moved by seeing the impressive stage layout as well as the fans' participation and the feelings they express during the songs.
