Ash Ketchum Pokemon - Nendoroid
Since 1996, Pokémon has been one of the most popular media franchises in the world. The media giant includes several main and secondary console games, phone apps, trading cards, and anime adaptations. The original television anime debuted in Japan in 1997. Since then, the main series has followed Ash Ketchum as he encounters new Pokémon introduced alongside the games. Ash has become an unofficial symbol of the Pokémon anime, especially overseas. Since 2017, Pokémon anime fans have been able to celebrate Ash with the commemorative Nendoroid figure "Nendoroid Pokemon Ash & Pikachu."
Nendoroid Pokémon Ash & Pikachu
The Pokémon Company celebrated the 20th anniversary of its anime adaptation with this Nendoroid figure of protagonist Ash Ketchum. The figure's design resembles the style of the first anime rather than that of more recent seasons. Ash wears his outfit from the first season of the anime. He notably wears the original version of the official Pokémon League hat. The hat also comes with an inverted version to recreate Ash's serious battle stance. The figure includes three face plates: a serious expression, a standard smile, and a closed-eye smile. Ash's best friend Pikachu also comes with the figure in two different poses for friendly and battle poses. Additional accessories include a Poké Ball and lightning effects for Pikachu's electric attacks.

About Ash Ketchum: Background
The anime begins on Ash Ketchum's tenth birthday. At the age of ten, he is eligible to receive a starter Pokémon and begin his journey as a licensed Pokémon Trainer. Ash takes a nap, misses the starter document, and instead receives an unruly Pikachu as a partner. Ash and Pikachu forge a powerful bond as they travel together through the various regions of the Pokémon world. Despite facing many setbacks, Ash strives to become the best Pokémon Trainer in the world.
At the beginning of the series, Ash is naive, impulsive, and determined. However, he also shows great love and kindness toward Pokémon, which helps him mature during his travels. At first, Ash received help and guidance from his traveling partners, the former Pokémon Gym Leaders Brock and Misty. But as time passes and Ash grows, he begins to teach his new companions while discovering new regions and Pokémon. Although Ash is no longer a novice Trainer, he remains serious and determined in the pursuit of his goals.
About Ash Ketchum: Abilities
Over time, Ash becomes a skilled and formidable Pokémon Trainer. He frequently ranks among the top in Pokémon tournaments, sometimes reaching the finals. As such, Ash masters certain elements of Pokémon battles, such as type matchups and move combination strategy.
Ash has also developed many personal strengths during his travels. He has impressive endurance thanks to his travels to different regions and terrains. Ash is also very sociable. He has the ability to make friends easily. In turn, these friends teach Ash various tips on breeding and training Pokémon, as well as various life lessons.
Other important Pokémon characters
The Pokémon franchise boasts countless characters who have shaped the current generation of storytellers. The following are recurring or currently prominent characters related to Ash Ketchum's Pokémon journey.
Pikachu
Pikachu is Ash's first Pokémon, his best friend and longest-standing traveling companion, as well as the mascot of the Pokémon franchise. When they first met, Pikachu was still quite wild and defiantly resisted Ash's attempts at authority. However, Ash and Pikachu quickly put aside their differences and became true partners. Pikachu is competitive and adventurous, like Ash, but also likes to relax. Pikachu sometimes displays power beyond the expectations of an ordinary Pikachu. This ability has caught the attention of Team Rocket, who follow Ash around the world in hopes of stealing Pikachu.
Gary Oak
Ten-year-old Gary Oak is the grandson of Professor Oak and Ash's longtime rival. When they were little, Gary and Ash found a Pokéball while fishing, which broke in half while battling over it. They each kept half as a promise to challenge each other as rivals. At the beginning of the series, Gary was arrogant, condescending, and particularly rude to Ash. Over time, Gary mellows and displays a calmer demeanor, though he still teases Ash and his other rivals, such as Goh. His dream was once to become a Pokémon Master, but now Gary hopes to be a top researcher like his grandfather.
Goh
Goh is the secondary protagonist of Pokémon Journeys and Ash's traveling companion in the series. Named after the mobile app "Pokémon GO," Goh represents the Pokémon collector element of the franchise. Goh's greatest dream is to catch every Pokémon in existence and become a top-level Pokémon Researcher.
