Black Butler - Figures
Black Butler stands out as one of the quintessential Victorian Gothic manga series. The dark tone, supernatural elements, and unconventional lead duo hooked fans upon its release. However, as the mystery behind the Phantomhive family's fate builds and more characters reveal their true intentions, longtime fans remain captivated by the story. Black Butler's beautiful character designs spawn many intricate and beautifully sculpted figures. Here are three of the most beautiful Black Butler figures: "ArtFX J Black Butler: Book of Circus Undertaker," "Cu-poche Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic Ciel Phantomhive," and "GEM Series Black Butler Sebastian Michaelis."

ArtFX J Black Butler: Undertaker's Book of Circus Figure
This scale figure from the master sculptors at Kotobukiya depicts the key informant of the Phantomhive family. Undertaker stands atop a ruined chessboard, tipping his hat. Always laughing, Undertaker displays a mischievous grin. He holds his imposing Death Scythe in his left hand. The scythe's handle features a human skeleton, including a ribcage, spine, and skull. Each vertebra and tooth are clearly and realistically defined. A thorny vine wraps around the skull at the base of the blade. His intricate outfit has been fully reproduced as it appears in the Noah's Ark circus arc. Delicate painting recreates each of the six mourning medallions on his hip. His eyes protrude from the brim of his hat, revealing the long scar that runs across his face. Key details include the prayer beads around his neck, the fabric effect of his scarf, and his long black fingernails.

He wears the brown coat and shorts seen in the promotional materials for The Book of the Atlantic. His sailor-style sleeves and collar are painted brown and white. Ciel also has his signature cane and eyepatch. His eyepatch can be removed, revealing the Faustian Contract mark on his eye. He notably wears his family heirloom ring on his left thumb and his Phantomhive crest ring on his right hand. The figure includes three interchangeable face plates: a serious face, a smile, and a blushing expression. Multiple points of articulation make the figure highly posable. Sebastian Michaelis figure from Black Butler from the GEM series
Megahouse showcases Sebastian's demonic charms in this GEM Series figure. He poses in a wide stance, holding his silver pocket watch to his side. He pulls off his left glove with his teeth, grinning with a sidelong glance. His narrowed red eyes seem to glow against his pale skin, framed by his dark bangs. The tails of his long jacket flip up behind him, mimicking the direction of his tousled hair. The textured details of his simple butler suit add dimension and elegance. The pleats of his shirt rest beneath a wide tie. The double-breasted buttons feature ornate carvings. Silver chains weave throughout the figure, including the small chain on the Phantomhive Crest lapel pin. His pocket watch has a fully painted face in a Victorian-era flower design.

The History of the Black Butler Series
On his tenth birthday, Ciel Phantomhive Ciel lost his parents and his dog in an arson attack. The attackers captured him and sold him into slavery to a demon-worshipping cult. After enduring years of abuse, Ciel summons a demon to help him seek revenge against his attackers and the murder of his parents. They make a contract, and once Ciel gets his revenge, the demon will eat his soul. Ciel names the demon Sebastian Michaelis after his deceased dog. Ciel returns to London's social circle as a 13-year-old earl and replaces his father as Queen Victoria's "watchdog." As the Queen's watchdog, Ciel investigates crimes in London's underworld as Queen Victoria sees fit.
The development of the Black Butler series
Black Butler is written and illustrated by Yana Toboso. The manga debuted in Monthly GFantasy magazine in October 2006. In October 2008, the series received its first anime adaptation produced by A-1 Pictures. The second season, Black Butler II, featured a different child and demon butler pairing not featured in the manga. A second anime adaptation, Black Butler: Book of Circus, aired during the summer of 2014. Unlike previous adaptations, this season closely followed the manga, drawing inspiration from the "Noah's Ark Circus" arc. An animated film adaptation of the "Luxury Liner" arc, Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic, premiered in 2017. The series has a large and devoted fanbase. The character of Sebastian Michaelis is particularly popular with female anime fans.
