Characters - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

The original Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) manga and anime series are still running to this day. Here's a brief description of the main characters, the Demon Slayers, featured in the story so far.

Tanjiro Kamado

Tanjiro Kamado (竈門炭治郎 Kamado Tanjiro) is a kind-natured boy with a strong sense of justice. He is the main protagonist of the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series.

Tanjiro is described by several characters as having kind eyes. He sports tousled black hair with a burgundy tint at the tips and a prominent scar on the left side of his forehead. His father, Tanjuro Kamado, died of an illness, leaving behind his wife and six children. As the eldest son of the Kamado family and Nezuko 's older brother, Tanjiro is responsible for caring for his younger siblings and mother. The only memento left by his father is a pair of hanafuda earrings that he always wears.

Inosuke Hashibira

Inosuke Hashibira (嘴平伊之助) is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and one of Tanjiro Kamado 's traveling companions and a main protagonist in the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. He was discovered to be the fifth winner of the final selection, and the first to ascend and descend Fujikasane Mountain before the others. Inosuke has a very short temper and charges into battles without hesitation, even attacking the box Nezuko is hiding in after detecting a demon inside. In the anime, during the Natagumo Arc , he has a large role in the fight against the Father Spider Demon. He likes to think that he is the best warrior in any situation, taking on most people he meets, which tends to lead him into unnecessary danger.

Kanao Tsuyuri

Kanao Tsuyuri (栗花落カナヲ) is a talented young Demon Slayer in the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. One of the five survivors of the final selection, she was initially introduced as a quiet young girl gazing at a butterfly. She is the adopted sister of Kanae Kocho and Shinobu Kocho, the latter's former tsuguko.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

Zenitsu Agatsuma (我妻善逸) is generally seen as a coward, he has low self-esteem and sometimes gives up when given a job. He is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, one of Tanjiro Kamado 's main traveling companions, and one of the main protagonists of the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. He faces the Tongue Demon defeating him while he sleeps.

Genya Shinazugawa

Genya Shinazugawa (不死川玄弥) is one of the five survivors of the Final Selection and is a Demon Slayer in the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. He is the younger brother of the Wind Pillar, named Sanemi Shinazugawa . His situation as a Demon Slayer is peculiar in that he has no talent for Breathing Styles, but is still capable of fighting demons. His Japanese voice actor is Nobuhiko Okamoto, and in English Zeno Robinson. His first manga debut is in chapter 6 and episode 4 of the anime series.

Murata

Murata is a low-ranking Demon Slayer who made his first appearance in the Natagumo Mountain Arc in chapter 28 of the manga and episode 15 of the anime. He is voiced in Japanese by Koki Miyata. His features are bland and unremarkable, with black eyes and straight black hair parted in the middle. It is mentioned that his family was killed by demons before he became a Demon Slayer. Murata is a Full Concentration Water Breathing user, but not to the same degree as Tanjiro. While helping Tanjiro and Inosuke, he fights with his manipulated comrades, demonstrating his courage to buy time.

Ozaki

Ozaki makes her first appearance in the Natagumo Mountain Arc in chapter 30 of the manga and episode 16 of the anime series. Voiced in Japanese by Hisako Tojo, Ozaki is a slender, brown-eyed girl who wears her hair in a shoulder-length ponytail. She is shown to be caring and selfless, warning her fellow Demon Slayers when she was being manipulated not to touch her. Tanjiro, hesitating for a moment, thought of the safest way to immobilize Ozaki without hurting her. She is a low-ranking Demon Slayer, but she has the ability to deal with demons easily.

Aoi Kanzaki

Aoi Kanzaki (神崎アオイ) is a Demon Slayer who works as an assistant at the Butterfly Domain rather than on the battlefield. She has deep blue eyes that match the two blue butterfly clips that hold her hair in a ponytail. She taught Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, establishing a demanding regimen that often pushed them to the brink. She has a strong demeanor resembling a young, always-raging Shinobu Kocho. While she often displays sensitive feelings, including bursting into tears when thinking about Inosuke's injury, she demonstrates that she is kind and emotionally concerned. She makes her first appearance in the Functional Recovery Training Arc in chapter 48 of the manga and episode 23 of the anime series, voiced by Yuri Ehara.

Sumi Nakahara

Sumi Nakahara is a small, fair-skinned girl with button-shaped eyes who wears her hair in low pigtails tied with blue butterfly clips. She is a servant of the Butterfly Domain, and after her family was killed, she was taken away. She appears in the Functional Recovery Training Arc in chapter 49 of the manga and episode 24 of the anime series, voiced by Ayumi Mano.

Kiyo Terauchi

Kiyo Terauchi is a maid of the Butterfly Domain. She was drawn to the Demons after killing her father. Kiyo is a fair-skinned, dark-eyed teenager with shoulder-length black hair curled on either side of her head with two pink butterfly clips. She wears a long white nurse's dress and a pink bow around her waist. She makes her debut in chapter 48 of the manga and episode 23 of the anime.
