Cheshire Cat Alice in Wonderland - BE@RBRICK
More than 156 years after the novel's first publication, Alice in Wonderland continues to captivate audiences worldwide. The story's whimsical setting and memorable characters have inspired spin-offs across all media. One of the story's most iconic characters is the Cheshire Cat. A cunning and devious creature, the Cheshire Cat represents the devious and deceptive nature of a world devoid of logic, much like that of Wonderland. BE@BRICK the line captures the cat's mischievous nature in the "NY@BRICK Cheshire Cat 400%" figurine.

NY@BRICK Cheshire Cat 400%
The Cheshire Cat's iconic grin won't fade in this NY@BRICK variant of Medicom Toys' BE@RBRICK line. As a NY@BRICK, the figure takes the form of a block-style cat built with nine points of articulation. The Cheshire Cat is inspired by the 1951 Disney animated film. White and magenta stripes surround its body, leading to light pink details on its hands and inner ears. Its mischievous grin extends across the rounded outline of the model's face, widening it even further. Its eyes, simple and wide, highlight its twisted and mischievous nature. The back features its tail, painted along its back and the back of its head, ending in a light pink tip. Its left leg bears the Disney copyright logo as a mark of authenticity.

About Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland, originally Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, is an 1865 fantasy novel. Originally written by Lewis Carroll, the story centers on a young girl named Alice who stumbles down a rabbit hole into a fantastical world. The tale has been adapted into numerous plays, live-action films, and animated specials. Most notably, Walt Disney Feature Animation produced a feature-length animated film in 1951. Due to the story's massive popularity, its absurdist motifs and visual themes frequently appear in video games and anime. The novel itself remains a classic example of the absurdist literary genre.
About the Cheshire Cat
The Cheshire Cat is a fictional, dimension-shifting cat in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Its appearance varies depending on the version of the story. However, the cat's distinctive, mischievous grin remains in all of its designs. Notably, the Cheshire Cat can slowly turn its body invisible, often leaving its grin as the last visible feature. The Cheshire Cat's personality also varies between stories. In some cases, it tries to help Alice, while in others, it deceives her for fun. Outside of literature, the Cheshire Cat has quickly gained popularity as a character in political cartoons, a symbol of psychedelic culture, and even molecular biology.
Other important characters from Alice in Wonderland
As a supporting character, the Cheshire Cat is just one of the many memorable characters in Lewis Carroll's classic novel.
Alice
Alice is the main character in Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass. She is a young girl in Victorian Britain who accidentally falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world. In the original novels, Alice is about 7 years old, middle-class, and very curious and intelligent. Some critics believe that Alice was inspired by the daughter of Carroll's friend, Alice Liddell, although Carroll denied these claims. Today, Alice is a cultural icon featured in parody works, films, and novels. Disney's animated version of Alice remains her most common portrayal.
White Rabbit
The White Rabbit is the first character in the story. His hasty entrance prompts Alice to follow him and fall into the fantastical world of Wonderland. In most depictions, the White Rabbit wears a waistcoat and holds a large pocket watch. His opening lines refer to his lateness to the Red Queen's upcoming garden party, where Alice will meet him again. In the original novels, the White Rabbit acts rudely toward his servants and grovels beneath his superiors, like the Queen. This contrasts with Alice, who tries to act politely toward everyone, and the Cheshire Cat, who delights in deceiving others.
Mad Hatter
Known as "the Hatter" in the original novel, the Mad Hatter is a major character in Alice in Wonderland. The Mad Hatter appears at an endless tea party with the March Hare. The Cheshire Cat warns Alice that both are "mad," earning him the popular nickname of the Hatter. The Mad Hatter was sentenced to death by the queen for "murdering time." However, his escape earned him the respect of Time, leading him to live his life forever at teatime. Despite his role as a supporting character, the Mad Hatter is often presented as the main male character in many Alice in Wonderland spin-off media.
Associated figures
The BE@RBRICK White Rabbit figurine is also a collaboration between BE@RBRICK and Alice in Wonderland. A traditional BE@RBRICK, the White Rabbit figurine features the traditional articulated bear shape rather than the cat-like NY@BEAR model. The BE@RBRICK White Rabbit debuted alongside the Cheshire Cat figurine in 2017.
