About Code Geass

Code Geass is a Japanese anime series produced by Sunrise, directed by Goro Taniguchi, and broadcast on JNN (MBS) between October 2006 and June 2007. In a fictional timeline, on August 10, 2010, the Holy Britannia Empire defeated the Japanese forces. They conquered the country in one month with the help of powerful robots. Japan lost its freedom and rights and was simply renamed Area 11. Its inhabitants, now called "Elevens," were forced to survive in ghettos. However, there are still groups that resist and fight against the Empire for Japanese independence. Lelouch, after accidentally being involved in a battle between rebels and soldiers, acquires the power of Geass. This power gives him the ability to control the minds of his opponents and command them without resistance. Using this power, Lelouch joins the rebel forces to reclaim Japanese territory.
