Daki - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

Daki (堕姫 Daki), her kanji meaning fallen princess, was a member of the Twelve Demon Moons and shared the position of Upper Moon Six with Gyutaro , with whom she also shared a body in the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. When posing as an oiran, her stage name was warabihime. When she was human, she was called Ume. Daki is first seen as the oiran warabihime and has long black hair tied in an elaborate bun with many hairpins. She wears a fancy kimono with a long, floral-patterned obi that is tied in a knot in the front. As she hides her demon form, we see her as a beautiful young woman with typical oiran makeup that further enhances her beauty. When she transforms into a demon, she gains pink and purple flower-shaped demon markings on her cheek and forehead. Her black hair turns silver, which blends into lime green, and her eyes, also lime green, gain the kanji for Upper Moon Six. When she fights, rather than wearing a heavy kimono, she wears very little fabric. She fights in an outfit that would most likely be her underwear as well as her floral-patterned obi tied around her midriff that she uses to fight.

History

Daki was born in Rashoumongashi, the neighborhood where the lowest castes of the Red Light District were locked up and left to die because they could no longer work. She was given the name Ume and was an extremely beautiful girl. Ume was raised by her older brother, Gyutaro. Her mother was mentally unstable and died of illness when she was still young. Because Ume was incredibly beautiful, she was recruited to work at one of the most prestigious brothels in the area. She was then taught a proper education and the skills to become a true oiran. At the age of 12, her success ended when she stabbed out a samurai's eye while her brother was away working. Since her brother was not there to protect her, she was bound and burned alive, leaving her for dead in a ditch. Her brother then carried her burned body into the city in search of help. The couple was later found by the Doma -era Upper Moon Six, who offered to help them by transforming them into demons. After becoming a demon, Daki became strong enough to kill and eat seven Pillars and caught the attention of Muzan Kibutsuji , who allowed them to join the Twelve Demon Moons. She later died after being beheaded by Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira .

Personality

Daki is proud and becomes extremely angry when other people order her around. As a human, she had an honest personality that was easy to influence, making her very tough like her older brother, following his words of "take before you are taken and get back." She is very indifferent and cruel to the people around her, causing accidents to some of the other oirans and even brutalizing them to death. Since she is extremely harsh to those beneath her, she is greatly feared by other workers. The only two people she truly cares for are Muzan Kibutsuji and his older brother. She shows deep respect for Muzan Kibutsuji , bowing immediately when he appears. Although she cares for and loves her brother, she is seen insulting and blaming him sometimes when things are not going well. Despite having lived for several hundred years, she is sometimes very childish and is seen throwing temper tantrums. Tengen Uzui cuts her head and doesn't believe she is Upper Moon Six, she starts crying and complains to her brother to come help her.

Skills and abilities

Enhanced Regeneration: Like all demons, Daki has a high regenerative ability, capable of regrowing her scarf cut in seconds. As an Upper Moon Six, she is said to have received blood from Muzan Kibutsuji , meaning her regeneration rate is greatly enhanced.
Belt Detachments: Daki can create sentient belt detachments from her own body. They are capable of thinking for themselves and communicating with the main body even when separated, as seen when she sent the belts to guard and protect her warehouse and when she created another living belt to monitor Hinatsuru, whom she suspected of being a spy.
Shapeshifting: Daki has the ability to transform and change her neck to have the properties of a cloth belt. She transformed her neck into a long belt to avoid being decapitated by Tanjiro Kamado .
Cell Fusion: Daki can fuse his body with that of his older brother Gyutaro , which in turn enhanced his own abilities.
Psychic Connection: Daki has the ability to share her senses and mind with her older brother and allow him to control her body by implanting one of her eyes into his forehead. She sends him information through this link in order to coordinate their attacks. At the same time, this ability also enhances all of Daki's abilities and improves her own sense of sight, thanks to the implantation of one of her brother's eyes. This is seen when she is able to easily track Zenitsu Agatsuma while he was using his Thunder Breathing techniques.
Blood Demon Art (血鬼術 Kekkijutsu): Daki's demonic arts rely primarily on his power to create and grow flexible, sharp tentacles from his own body. These scarves are said to possess the sharpness of swords while retaining the flexibility of cloth.
Multi-Layered Sash Slash (八重帯斬り Yae Obigiri): Daki creates multiple simultaneous scarf attacks in order to cut his opponent.
