The manga is created through the collaboration of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi, who act as writer and illustrator respectively. The manga series quickly gained popularity among readers of the popular manga magazine, which led to an anime adaptation produced by studio 8PAN in 2019. With the success of the Doctor Stone series since its release, many fans have become eager to collect various types of merchandise, one of the most popular types being collectible figurines of the many characters in the series. Of the small selection of figurines currently being produced, some of the most popular include the "Dr. Stone Figure of Stone World" and the "Gals Series Dr. Stone Kohaku."
Dr. Stone Figure of the World of Stone Figure
This item is a collection of two different figurines for a user to choose from. The first figurine is of Gen Asagiri, the psychology expert, while the second is an uncolored version of the protagonist, Senku Ishigami. Although both figurines are part of the same collection, each figurine is available for purchase individually. The Gen figurine is fully colored and wears his standard apricot-colored yukata and purple overcoat. He is posed standing with his hands pointing in different directions, possibly hinting at his conjuring skills. The Senku figurine recreates the pose he strikes in one of the key visuals of the anime adaptation. In this pose, Senku wears his handcrafted clothes and shoes while holding a beaker in one hand. This figurine is also left uncolored, giving the impression that it is made of stone.

Doctor Stone Series History
The story of Doctor Stone takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where most of humanity was suddenly turned to stone after a strange flash of light spread across the globe. After several thousand years, a select few regained consciousness and their corporeal form. However, they were welcomed into a world overrun by nature and the few humans who had reverted to a very primitive society.
Series Overview
The plot of Doctor Stone centers around the protagonist, Senku Ishigami. Senku has been making efforts to restore humanity to its former glory through his intelligence and extensive knowledge of humanity's previous technological advancements. After naturally depetrifying himself, he conducts experiments and discovers the science behind depetrification and uses it to revive his friend Taiju and eventually create the "Rebirth Fluid," which can be used to instantly depetrify someone. Senku eventually forms the "Kingdom of Science" with the residents of Ishigami Village. His efforts are opposed by Tsukasa Shishio and his faction members, who strive to create a society free of advanced technology and adults.
Characters from the series
The series' characters are generally divided into two factions for the first major saga: the Kingdom of Science and the Tsukasa Empire. Among those belonging to the Kingdom of Science are the protagonist and founder, Senku Ishigami, as well as other petrified humans like Taiju Oki, Yuzuriha Ogawa, and Gen Asagiri. Many members of Ishigami's village also join the cause, adding more manpower and specialized skills to the faction. These characters are Senku's second-in-command, Chrome, Kohaku, and the craftsman, Kaseki. On the other hand, the important figures of the Tsukasa Empire are generally young but highly skilled individuals. These characters include Tsukasa himself, Hyoga, Ukyo Saionji, and many others.
Doctor Stone Series Development
Like many other manga series published in Weekly Shonen Jump , Doctor Stone gained a significant readership after its serialization in the popular magazine. Here's a brief summary of the manga's production and its anime adaptation.
Mass production
The conception of the Doctor Stone manga began as one of many ideas he pitched to his editor, who expressed interest in the story as he wanted to see how it would evolve over time. South Korean artist Boichi was then hired to do the illustrations for the manga. The first chapter was published in Weekly Shonen Jump on March 6, 2017. As the series grew in popularity, a 24-episode anime adaptation produced by studio 8PAN was announced and aired in 2019. This adaptation was directed by Shinya Iino, used characters designed by Yuko Iwasa, and has a soundtrack composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi, Tatsuya Kato, and Yuki Kanesaka.
Reception of the series
As of January 2021, Doctor Stone has 19 tankoban volumes published and over eight million copies in circulation. The series also consistently ranks high in popularity polls, often ranking among the top twenty shonen series in various surveys. The anime is equally popular, with major content publishers like Crunchyroll and IGN ranking it as one of the best series of the decade.
