Elsa Granhiert, also known as the Gut Hunter , was an assassin working for an assassination organization based in Gusteko. At first glance, she has a gentle expression with her long black hair tied back and falling to one side of her head and her kind-looking purple eyes. However, her black dress, which is very low-cut in the middle and also has very large slits on either side of her legs, contrasts with this. She wears a purple flower in her hair and a floor-length cape that blocks magical attacks (although it is destroyed after a single use). Elsa speaks softly most of the time, but quickly loses this veneer when faced with a fight where she becomes manic and excitable.
History
Elsa is originally from the country of Gusteko and grew up there. Orphaned, she had to steal to earn a living. One day, when she was caught, she was almost raped, but to defend herself, she grabbed a piece of glass and ripped open her attacker's stomach. From then on, she gained a reputation as a renowned assassin and eventually joined the Assassin organization under the leadership of a figure known as Mama , who is actually Capella Emerada Lugnica , the Archbishop of the Sin of Lust.
Meanwhile, Elsa was ordered to retrieve a feral child from a forest. She went out and killed all the Demonic Beasts that lived with the child and returned with a Meili who was raised completely outside of civilization. As the child grew, she adopted many of Elsa's mannerisms such as speech patterns due to their closeness.
Eventually, Elsa would hire a thief in the capital of Lugnica named Fedora to steal a badge that proclaimed her qualification to be a royal candidate, Emilia . This event would kick off the story with Elsa killing Subaru for the first time. Unbeknownst to her, Subaru repeated the same day until Elsa was finally defeated through the combined efforts of Subaru, Emilia, Old Man Rom , Fedora, and the late arrival of Reinhard . She immediately recognizes Reinhard and is initially excited to fight him through Reinhard's sword. Reid, the Dragon Sword, does not deem her worthy enough to be drawn. In fact, he easily restrains her until he unleashes a final blow. Elsa, for her part, is able to survive (possibly thanks to her Blessing ) and delivers a fatal blow to Subaru before retreating.
Sometime later, she is hired by Roswaal to kill the occupants of the Mathers Mansion to push Subaru's despair. Elsa calls on Meili for help and together, across multiple timelines, cause many deaths. However, in the timeline where Subaru survives, she is pushed to the brink by being forced to fight Garfield Garland . Subaru struggles to save everyone in the mansion. Eventually, although Elsa and Meili are able to corner the mansion's residents using demonic beasts and fire, Elsa Blessing 's strength is pushed beyond its limits and she dies as the burning mansion collapses on top of her.
Relationships
Capella Emerada Lugnica - Also known as Mama Capella is the leader of the assassin organization to which Elsa belongs.
Meili Harbor Road - Elsa brought Meili into the assassination organization and taught her many basic skills, such as speech. As such, Meili has greatly influenced Elsa and benefits from her in many ways. Meili was also recruited as a professional partner when Elsa was hired for the position at the Mathers Manor.
Roswaal L. Mathers - Elsa hired to kill the occupants of the Mathers mansion.
Garfield Garland - Was able to fight Elsa face to face when she attacked the Mathers mansion and was instrumental in pushing her back to the point where she could be permanently killed.
SKILLS
Blessing - The official term for this is actually cursed doll as it is actually a curse that involves carving a mark containing information about a target onto someone. Upon activation, the marked person gains immortality at the cost of their sense of self and is driven to kill the target, dying once the task is complete. However, Elsa had a version of this spell cast on her that did not destroy her sense of self, thus granting her a form of immortality. It was on this basis that she called herself a vampire despite only having the regeneration of a single one and not needing blood or any of the traditional weaknesses of a vampire. This so-called blessing had a limitation as repeated deaths degraded her physical form as well as her sanity and eventually became overpowered, resulting in true death.
Skilled Assassin - Elsa was an extremely skilled assassin, possessing incredible strength and agility, as well as a mastery of blade techniques designed to overwhelm and surprise the target. This, combined with her blessing , allowed her to be extremely persistent and deadly, even to opponents who knew her, let alone anyone unprepared for her attacks.
Knitting and Sewing - Elsa is known for her talent for making dolls. Meili is carrying a Reinhard doll made by Elsa.
Equipment
Magical Cloak - The feathered cloak she wears blocks a magical attack once before it is destroyed. It only works on physical spells and therefore will not prevent effects such as the Shamak None spell.
Ornate Shortswords - Elsa keeps a number of elaborately designed shortswords on her person for attacking. They are extremely sharp, and she is adept at drawing one during the attack move to reduce the time an opponent has to react to her attack.
Throwing Needles - Elsa uses these as a ranged option in addition to her extreme agility to continue fighting at a distance.
White Blade - One of two special blades in his possession, this blade is a thick kukri that is heavier than it appears. It is designed to crush bone and emits a strong pressure when swung, which materializes as a beam of light.
Black Blade - One of two special blades Elsa uses, which at first glance resembles one of her standard knives but has an unpleasantly serrated edge. This blade is designed to slash opponents rather than make clean cuts.
