Enmu - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

Enmu (魘夢 Enmu), his kanji has the meaning of demonic dream which is a representation of his demonic blood arts. He is a member of Twelve Demon Moons and holds the position of Lower Moon One in Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer). Enmu has the appearance of a pale young man dressed neatly in a white button-down shirt and a long black button-up coat. He also wore gray pinstriped pants and plain gray shoes, showing a type of Western attire compared to the rest of the Lower Moons who wore Japanese clothing. He has chin-length black hair with the tips of his hair colored orange. He also has two longer strands of hair colored green. His eyes are light blue with the kanji for Lower Moon One written in his iris. His right eye shows a short horizontal line instead of a pupil similar to that of frogs. Under both eyes, he has three square-shaped markings, each separated by a small dot. The squares, starting with those near his eyes, are green, fading to orange and then yellow. He usually has a blank expression, but at the thought of hurting someone, he becomes very cheerful.

History

Enmu first appears in the Infinity Fortress after being summoned by Nakime for a meeting regarding the death of Lower Moon Five Rui. He remains a passive spectator as the other Lower Moons are killed one by one until he is the only survivor. He is the only Lower Moon to survive the encounter as Muzan Kibutsuji has taken a liking to his sadistic tendencies. After receiving a lot of Muzan Kibutsuji 's blood, he plans to kill Tanjiro so he can receive even more blood. He assimilates his body into a train so he can devour all 200 passengers sleeping inside in one go so he can gain a lot of power. His plan is blocked by Tanjiro Kamado who wakes up from the dream he was trapped in. After the rest of the Demon Slayers awaken, he fights both Tanjiro Kamado and Inosuke Hashibira by trying to trap them in his dreams while attacking the passengers at the same time, but is stopped by Kyojuro Rengoku None, Zenitsu Agatsuma , and Nezuko . He is later killed by Tanjiro Kamado who cuts his "neck" which had transformed into a train carriage. Enmu continues to curse the Demon Slayers while slowly disintegrating, he realizes that even with the extra blood he had obtained from Muzan Kibutsuji, he still wasn't as strong as an Upper Moon.

Personality

Enmu shows very sadistic tendencies, as shown by his happiness when Muzan Kibutsuji killed the Lower Moons and enjoyed listening to the screams of other Demons. He enjoys watching the pain and suffering of humans and enjoys mentally tormenting his victims. He shows humans nightmares after showing them happy dreams and relishes the distorted faces they make after being struck by misfortune and continues to watch them moan in pain. He also shows slight masochistic tendencies which we can see when he shows pleasure at the thought of Muzan Kibutsuji killing him. Although he writhes in pain from the abundance of blood] Muzan Kibutsuji He always laughs with joy. He does not care about human lives, seeing them as mere disposable pawns. He does not warn the humans he uses of the dangers of entering the dream of the Demon Slayers and simply makes false promises. Enmu is also very intelligent and manipulative, using the idea of sweet dreams as an incentive, he makes humans his tools and forces them to do his dirty work. He exploits humans' weakness and makes them kill each other. Although he is very intelligent, at the thought of receiving more blood, he becomes overconfident, thinking he can kill Tanjiro Kamado and the Upper Moons.

Skills and abilities

Enhanced Powers: Enmu held the position of Lower Moon One, the strongest of the Lower Moons, and by receiving a copious amount of Muzan Kibutsuji 's blood, all of his abilities were enhanced, making him stronger than before.
Sleeping Tickets: By mixing his blood with the ink from train tickets, Enmu could put anyone who touched them to sleep.
Connecting Rope: Enmu could create a unique type of rope. When attached to a person trapped in one of his dreams and to a stranger, it allowed the stranger to enter the trapped person's dreams. To enter the victim's dreams, the stranger had to first attach the rope to the victim, then to themselves, and then fall asleep.
Assimilation: Enmu has shown the ability to assimilate and fuse into a large train and transform it into its main body.
Flesh Detachments: Enmu can create pieces of flesh from his own flesh and blood. He is able to create a piece the same size as his body in order to deceive others into believing it is his real body.
Blood Demon Art (血鬼術 Kekkijutsu): Enmu's ability is his power to enter, manipulate, and control someone's dreams. He is able to shatter their spirit by destroying their "spiritual core" within the dream, which will paralyze them mentally but not their body. There is also a risk of being influenced if the dreamer has a particularly strong conscience.
Convincing Hypnotic Whisper (強制昏倒催眠の囁き Kyosei Konto Saimin no Sasayaki): A mouth forms on Enmu's hand that tells the opponent to sleep and forces them to fall asleep.
Forced Sleep-Disappearance: Eyeballs (強制昏倒睡眠・眼 Kyosei Konto Suimin: Manako): Enmu creates several eyes with the kanji for "dream" (夢 Yume) inscribed on their irises. When the opponents' gazes meet, they fall asleep.
