Fate Lancer C? Chulainn
Throw (Cú Chulainn) – Destiny
What series is Cú Chulainn in?
Cú Chulainn, also known as Ireland's Child of Light, is depicted in the anime Fate /Stay Night (Lancer), Fate/Prototype (Lancer), Fate/Hollow Ataraxia (Lancer), and Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma☆Illya (Lancer), as well as the games Fate/Extra (Lancer) and Fate/Grand Order (Caster or Berserker Altar).
In Fate/Prototype he fought in the Second Holy Grail War for his master Misaya Reiroukan as a Lancer. In Fate/Zero he fought in the Fourth Holy Grail War for his master Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald as a Lancer. In Fate/Stay Night he fought in the Fifth Holy Grail War, first for his master Bazett Fraga McRemitz, then for Kirei Kotomine as a Lancer. He also appears in Fate/Kaleid understudy Prisma☆IIllya as a Lancer class card used during Ainsworth's Fifth Holy Grail War.
He can be summoned as a spellcaster or berserker in Fate/Grand Order by the protagonist and is an enemy servant of Rin Tohsaka in Fate/Extra for Moon Cell's Holy Grail War as a Lancer.
What does Cú Chulainn mean?
In Galic Irish, Cú Chulainn means "Culann's wild dog," in tribute to his strength for killing a guard dog as strong as 10 men in his very first fight as a child, using only his bare hands when attacked.
What is Gae Bolg?
The Gae Bolg is a cursed spear he obtained from Scathach in the Shadowlands. It possesses two Noble Phantasms: the anti-unit thrust and the anti-army throw. The wounds it creates are also cursed and will not heal unless Lancer is killed or the spear is destroyed. It can be used to perform the special attacks described below.
- Barbed Spear that Pierces with Death: This piercing attack always penetrates the opponent's heart and kills them from the inside out with its thousand iron thorns by reversing the nature of causality. The cause of the spear's thrust is that it has already pierced the opponent's heart. It can move at impossible angles to reach the heart by transforming into a beam of red light. The damage it inflicts is equal to the opponent's health limit plus the damage of the spear itself. Since it can never be dodged, the defender must be lucky enough to alter fate or know how to retreat out of its range before it is initiated. It can be defended with divine protection, a self-resurrection ability, and a sufficiently powerful shield.
- Gáe Bolg: Rising Spear That Strikes with Death: This is a throwing attack that can hit up to 50 people. It consumes all of Throw's magical energy to warp space, creating a "tapestry of action" that splits spear points and sends them raining down on enemies. It cannot normally be dodged or blocked.
- Gáe Bolg: Piercing Spear of Carnage: This is a throwing attack similar to Soaring Spear that strikes with death, but instead of raining spears, it becomes a homing magical spear missile that can hit up to 100 people, causing instant death or heavy damage if dodged.
The Gae Bolg: Piercing Crimson Lance is the spear of the Destiny/Prototype Lancer which is also called the Origin Gae Bolg to distinguish it from the Gae Bolg.
What about Lancer from Fate/Zero?
The real name of Lancer of Fate/Zero , servant of Master Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, is not Cú Chulainn, but Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. Diarmuid Ua Duibhne is also depicted in the game Fate/Grand Order as being able to be summoned as a Saber-class servant by Ritsuka Fujimaru in Grand Order.
In Fate/stay night
Role: Servant first of Master Bazett Fraga McRemitz then of Kirei Kotomine.
Appearance: Lancer is a handsome man with dark blue hair in a rattail and red eyes. He wears full-body tights that match the blue color of his hair. He has runic wards on his outfit, as well as silver shoulder pads and a plate on his lower abs. He also wears silver earrings.
Personality: Lancer is considered neutral and lawful. He believes in justice, appreciates a worthy opponent, will not give up a fight just because he is losing, and strictly follows the rules of war. He will do his best to protect his chosen ones until the end. He has no regrets, and this is evident in his carefree and cheerful personality. While serious about his missions, his hobbies include fishing, hunting, and flirting.
In Fate/Prototype
Role: Servant of Misaya Reiroukan.
Appearance: Although his appearance is quite similar to Fate/Stay Night, he no longer has tights or earrings. Instead, he wears a full-body silver and black armor with blue fabric and white fur on one shoulder.
Personality: Very similar to Fate/Stay Night but slightly less mature.
In Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya
Role: Ainsworth's Fifth Holy Grail War Class Card summoned by the Ainsworth Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald Doll
Appearance: Lancer appears as a woman with long blond hair tied in a ponytail. She has red eyes and wears blue armor that reveals her abdomen and thighs. As a corrupted hero, Lancer appears in a black tight-fitting outfit with light blue lines and white and blue fur covering one shoulder. His ponytail is blue with a red tip and he has a mask over his eyes. He also has the ability to transform into a wolf. He wears earrings in both forms.
In Fate/Grand Order
Role: A servant that can be summoned by the protagonist as a Caster or Lancer class in Grand Orders.
Appearance: As a Caster, he does not wear metal armor, but rather a flowing blue and white robe, with a black undershirt and gold details. He wears hoop earrings and carries a large staff that resembles a hockey stick. As a Berserker Alter, he has a spiked tail, tanned skin, red and black armor that shows his chest and abdomen, and a short hooded cape that covers his shoulders. He also wears high heels.
Personality: As a Caster, he has the additional attribute of "being the one who guides," otherwise his personality is the same as in Fate/Stay Night. As a Berserker Alter, he lacks all of his carefree attitude and is simply a fighting machine as ferocious as a beast.
