Main characters

Shirou Emiya (Voice of: Noriaki Sugiyama)
Shirou has a strong sense of justice and wants to become her protector after a promise made to his father, Kiritsugu. He has a strong desire to save everyone and considers Kiritsugu a hero. He has no knowledge of sorcery and does not come from a lineage of magicians, but he knows how to use projection magic thanks to Kiritsugu. After becoming Saber's master, he does his best to protect her and end the Holy Grail Wars. He is Saber's master.

Rin Tohsaka (Voice of: Kana Ueda)
Rin is Shirou's classmate. She is as intelligent as she is beautiful and is well-regarded by others. She is also very popular among the male students. She is a powerful magician who has been training for 10 years to win the Holy Grail. She is the Archer's Master.

Illyasviel of Einzbern (Voice of: Mai Kadowaki)
Illya is a young girl from an aristocratic family. Although she appears innocent, she has a cruel and merciless streak. She believes that once you've beaten someone, you should kill them and be done with it. She possesses vast magical circuits throughout her body. She is the Mistress of the Berserker.

Kirei Kotomine (Voice of: Jouji Nakata)
Rin's legal guardian, a magician and church father, he is also a member of the Heretic Mage Association. Kirei was Rin's father's apprentice and the overseer of the Fifth Holy Grail War. He succeeds his father, who was the overseer of the Third Holy Grail War. He is the master of Lancer and Gilgamesh.

Supporting characters

Emiya of Kiritsugu (Voice of: Rikiya Koyama)
Emiya's adoptive father who saved him from death during the previous Holy Grail War. Before meeting Shirou, Kiritsugu was a stereotypical mage who only cared about his own goals and achieved them at all costs. He was neither cruel nor a cold-blooded killer, but he suppressed his emotions and killed anyone who was his enemy. He is the victor of the previous Holy Grail War, in which he was Saber's master.

Sakura Matou (Voice of: Noriko Shitaya)
Sakura is a classmate and friend of Shirou. She is kind and caring and always helps him by cooking and doing chores. She is Shinji's sister and comes from a long line of magicians.

Taïga Fujimura (Voice of: Miki Itou)
Fujimura is Emiya and Issei's homeroom teacher. She is bubbly and energetic, and usually comes to Shirou's house every day for breakfast and dinner. She loves Sakura's cooking. She is cheerful, sincere, and honest.

Shinji Matou (Voice of: Hiroshi Kamiya)
Sakura's brother, Shinji, is a member of the archery team and has been friends with Shirou since middle school. He is confident and proud, and it seems he was rejected by Rin, which shattered his pride. He now enjoys embarrassing the younger members of the club in front of the girls. He is the master of the riders.

The servants

Saber (Voice of: Ayako Kawasumi)
Saber is Shirou's servant. Her true identity is King Arthur, and her Noble Phantasms are her sword Excalibur and its scabbard, Avalon. She is loyal and devoted with a strong sense of honor and duty. Due to her incomplete summoning, her bond with Shirou is weak, and she cannot return to her spirit form. Her wish for the Grail is to return to her own time to fulfill an obligation to her people as king, which weighs heavily on her. At first, she does not understand why Shirou is protecting her, but she eventually develops feelings for him.

Archer (Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe)
Archer is Rin's servant. He is impetuous, cynical, and nihilistic. He believes Shirou is naive for wanting to be a protector of justice. He fights with dual swords, named Kanshou and Bakuya, which he can make as many copies of as his mana allows, and which he can detonate upon impact with an enemy. His Noble Phantasm is Unlimited Blade Works, a Reality Marble that creates a bounded field filled with swords.

Lancer (Voice of: Nobutoshi Canna)
Lancer is Kirei's servant. His true identity is Cú Chulainn, an epic hero from Irish mythology. His noble phantasm is the cursed spear Gáe Bolg, which inflicts wounds that cannot heal. He is a fierce warrior but believes in justice.

Berserker (Voice of: Tadahisa Saizen)
Berserker is Illya's servant. His true identity is Heracles, the strongest hero in Greek mythology. His strength is incomparable to that of any other servant. Due to his Noble Phantasm God Hand, he must be killed 12 times to be defeated. This dates back to his former life as Heracles, who had to endure 12 trials to atone for his sins and was made immortal as a reward. Due to his Mad Enhancement, he is completely devoid of thoughts and emotions.

Rider (Voiced by: Yuu Asakawa)
Rider is Shinji's servant. Her true identity is Medusa, a Gorgon from Greek mythology. For this reason, she wears a covering over her powerful mystical eyes of petrification. She is silent and vigilant, always ready to protect her master. She possesses several Noble Phantasms, including Bellerophon, which summons a pegasus she can ride and attack with, and Blood Fort Andromeda, a bounded field that drains the life energy of anyone within it. Her primary weapons are the Nameless Daggers, spear-like daggers connected by chains that she uses to trap her target.

Assassin (Voiced by: Shin-ichiro Miki)
Assassin is Caster's servant. His true identity is Kojiro Sasaki, a mythical Japanese swordsman. As a fictional epic hero, Assassin has no past, no place to return to, and no wish he wishes to have granted by the Grail. He is stoic, condescending, and lives for battle. His primary weapon is the sword Monohoshi Zao, and his finishing move is the Turning Swallow Strike—a secret sword technique that creates a multidimensional phenomenon in which his sword appears in multiple places at once as he strikes three times in succession, leaving the opponent no opportunity to escape.

Roulette (Voiced by: Atsuko Tanaka)
Caster is Soichiro Kuzuki's servant. She is also the Assassin's Mistress. Her true identity is Medea, a deceptive sorceress from Greek mythology. Noble Phantasm is Rule Breaker: a serrated dagger capable of nullifying all magical pacts. She is a first-class mage from the Age of Gods who does not need a master, and she first killed her first master before hiding at Ryudou Temple. Her main offensive spell is Rain of Light, a rapid volley of powerful beams of light. She is capable of using Territory Creation to create an underground temple as a lair.

Gilgamesh (Voice of: Tomokazu Seki)
Gilgamesh is an Archer-class servant from the previous Holy Grail War who makes a new pact with Kirei, allowing him to remain in the world. He is the King of Heroes in ancient history and is considered the oldest Epic Hero whose myth inspired many other heroes. He was obsessed with collecting treasures from around the world and, because of this, he possesses a large number of Noble Phantasms in his Gate of Babylon, which he can summon at any time. He is haughty, selfish, and cruel. He is also extremely arrogant and selfish and considers Saber his property.
