Felt is a young girl who grew up in the slums as a thief and also happens to be a royal candidate to become the 42nd king of Lugnica. She is a small girl with fair skin, red eyes, and shoulder-length golden hair. She goes through a few different costume changes throughout the series. She initially wears ragged, practical clothes, as one would expect from someone who grew up with little money. Reinhard Felt takes her in and forces her to wear an elaborate yellow dress for the royal selection ceremony. After that, she receives a new outfit from Reinhard that is more practical for her tastes with light clothing similar to her thief days but more respectable in appearance. Felt is loud and boisterous, unafraid to speak her mind most of the time.
History
Felt was found at a very young age by Old Man Rom, who took her in and raised her. As such, she only estimates her current age to be 15, and her birthday is the day she was found by Old Man Rom. She grew up poor, and her life in the slums makes her place a high value on money and the will to change one's circumstances. She is actually the catalyst for the first incident in the story, as she was hired by Elsa Granhiert to steal Emilia's regalia and proof of her status as a royal candidate.
Without Subaru's intervention, Felt and Old Man Rom (who had been brought in as someone Felt trusted for the evaluation) would end up being killed by Elsa. Subaru 's intervention brought Emilia to the exchange site, and the group's combined efforts managed to hold Elsa off until Reinhard could arrive to save the day. During the process, Old Man Rom and Subaru were both mortally wounded but were stabilized and saved thanks to Emilia's magic. As Felt returned the stolen insignia, Reinhard realized that he was reacting to Felt, meaning she was a royal candidate. He effectively kidnapped her, and she would not be seen or heard from again until the royal selection ceremony.
Her appearance at the ceremony shocked many people as she actively opposed the nobles and expressed her disdain for the whole charade, thus renouncing her claim to the throne. At that moment, Old Rom had sneaked into the palace and set off a smoke bomb in an attempt to "kidnap" Felt. Reinhard foiled this attempt by cutting through the smoke, resulting in Old Rom's capture and execution. In order to save her life, Felt retracted her renunciation and officially adopted Old Rom under her banner to save his life. She also proclaimed to everyone present that she would fight for the throne and that once she claimed it, she would destroy all the nobles who (in her eyes) made this country such a terrible place to live.
Later, Felt and his retinue would be invited to Priestelle along with the other royal candidates. Before proper discussions could take place, the city was attacked by four archbishops of Sin. Felt played a vital role in the fight against Loi Batenkaitos . During this encounter, Ley tried to eat his name using his Authority , but since Felt was not his real name, it caused him nausea. After an even more desperate fight, Felt was able to charge a white staff Metia created by Echidna , which even Reinhard apparently couldn't avoid.
According to the author, Felt is expected to appear once again in Arc 8.
Relationships
Old Man Rom - Old Man Rom is Felt's adoptive grandfather, whom she considers her true family. She trusts him greatly, especially when it comes to assessments.
Subaru and Emilia - Felt is very grateful to Subaru and Emilia for saving her during the events of their first meeting. From Arc 5 onwards, she calls them big brother (niichan) and big sister (neechan), respectively.
Reinhard - Reinhard is Felt's knight and supported her during the royal selection ceremony. Although he has only known her for a short time, he has already sworn his loyalty to her.
SKILLS
Divine Protection - Felt possesses Divine Protection, though it is still unnamed and its limitations are somewhat unknown. She has been shown to be capable of explosive movement like a gust of wind. She has claimed to be more accustomed to relying on this ability rather than tools and weapons. Its mobility potential also allows Felt to use it to climb walls and buildings.
Pickpocketing - Felt is extremely agile and nimble, capable of both pickpocketing and combat.
Felt traditionally uses a knife in combat, but currently also possesses a powerful metia that Beatrice recognizes as having been made by Echidna.
