One Piece Movie: Red – US and UK Release Date

On November 21, 2021, the 1000th episode of the One Piece anime series was officially released. This is a major milestone, as few anime series air long enough to reach the 1000-episode mark. It was certainly a cause for celebration, and the show's producers had a very special announcement for us that day.

It was announced that a new One Piece anime film, the 15th overall, would be released on August 6, 2022. It was also revealed that the film would be supervised and produced by Eiichiro Oda, the author of the One Piece manga. Gorō Taniguchi, who previously directed the OVA One Piece – Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack (released in 1998, 24 years before the film's planned release and over a year before the release of Episode 1 of the anime), was hired as the film's director from a script written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa.

One Piece Movie: Red Plot

Since the film is a completely original story and we will not be adapting any published material, we don't know much about the plot, except for what was revealed in the first trailer.

As revealed in the first trailer, the plot will involve Shanks, whose distinctive scar is seen on the "D" in the film's title logo, as well as during the trailer's final scene.

Great Battle Royale One Piece

A new female character will also appear in the film, which Oda says is a departure from the older male characters who have played villains in four of the last five films. The teaser poster shows the woman, who appears to be a Sky Island resident, in a strange costume, while the trailer confirms that she will indeed be the film's villain.

One Piece Movie: Red Voice in English

At the moment, we don't know much about the film's English voice cast, except for what we usually know about One Piece voice actors.
