Characters
Ryuichi Kashima (Kotaro Nishiyama)
Orphaned alongside his younger brother Kotaro after his parents died in a plane crash, Ryuichi is taken in by Yoko Morinomiya, who runs Morinomiya Academy. In exchange for free housing and tuition, Ryuichi must help out at the school's daycare as part of the babysitting club. An admirable young man, Ryuichi loves his younger brother and is determined to take care of him now that their parents are gone. He enjoys his babysitting duties and is popular with the children.
Kotaro Kashima (Furuki Nozomi)
Kotaro is Ryuichi's younger brother and is usually taken care of with the other little children at the babysitting club. He adores his older brother but is generally quiet and spends most of his time reading picture books to himself.
Hayato Kamitani (Yuichiro Umehara)
Hayato is a classmate of Ryuichi and a star player on the school baseball team, as well as the son of science teacher Shizuka Kamitani. Generally laconic and expressionless, Hayato loves his younger brother Taka but chooses to show it by repeatedly hitting him on the head.
Taka Kamitani (Yuko Sanpei)
Taka is the younger brother of Hayato Kamitani and one of the children at Morinomiya Daycare alongside Kotaro. A crybaby and one of the naughtiest children in the daycare, Taka is often hit by his stern older brother Hayato, but secretly loves and admires him.
Kirin Kumatsuka (Konomi Kohara)
Kirin Kumatsuka, the oldest child at the daycare, is also the most precocious and insatiably curious. More intelligent than the other children, she is always elegant and polite, and never leaves her beloved giraffe behind. Her mother, Yayoi, is the school's drama teacher, while her father, Satoru, is a freelance photographer.
Takuma Mamizuka (Ayaka Saito)
The son of Umi, the school's PE teacher, and her actor husband Kousuke, Takuma is the eldest of the Mamizuka twins and is as happy and cheerful as his mother. He is always seen spending time with his shy younger brother Kazuma.
Kazuma Mamizuka (Atsumi Tanezaki)
Kazuma is the younger of the twins. He is Takuma's brother and the son of Umi, the school's physical education teacher, and her husband Kousuke, an actor. Unlike Takuma, Kazuma is extremely shy and often tearful. He is rarely seen away from his brother and often mimics him when interacting with the other children at daycare.
Midori Sawatari (Kaede Hondo)
Midori Sawatari, the daughter of teacher Yukari, is the youngest child in the daycare. She is very attached to Yoshihito Usaida.
Yoshihito Usaida (Maeno Tomoaki)
Yoshihito Usaida, the babysitting club's only full-time employee, is himself a graduate of Morinomiya Academy. Although he often has to nap, Yoshihito genuinely cares for the children at the daycare.
Yoko Morinomiya (Tomoko Miyadera)
Yoko Morinomiya is the president of Morinomiya Academy. Having lost her son and daughter-in-law in the same plane crash that killed Ryuichi's parents, Yoko offered to take the boys on the condition that they help out at the school's daycare. Although she appears strict and stern, Yoko has a deeply caring personality and is committed to helping Ryuichi and Kotaro in her own way. Kotaro nicknamed Yoko "shaggy" because of her distinctive hair.
Maria Inomata (Satomi Akesaka)
Maria Inomata is a brilliant student in the school's advanced class. Socially awkward and openly harsh, she struggles to interact with others and easily becomes depressed.
Yuki Ushimaru (Kaede Hondo)
Painfully shy but kind, Yuki Ushimari is a classmate of Ryuichi and has developed a one-sided crush on him. She is convinced that she is not good with young children.
Tomoya Yagi (Toshiyuki Someya)
A second-year student in Morinomiya Academy's Special Advanced Class, Tomoya Yagi is considered the school's hottie but gets a nosebleed every time he goes to the babysitting club.
Chukichi Nezu (Motohiro Ōta)
Chukichi Nezu is one of six siblings. He is a member of Morinomiya Academy's special advanced class and has received special permission from the school to get a part-time job and help support his family.
Hiroyuki Inui (Yoshimasa Hosoya)
A year above Ryuichi, Hiroyuki Inui is a pure-hearted boy who has a crush on teacher Yukari Sawatari. Although he initially considered the daycare children "boring" and called Midori a "poop factory," Hiroyuki eventually grows attached to Kotaro and often helps him in secret.
Umi Mamizuka (Ayaka Saito)
A physical education teacher at Morinomiya Academy, Umi is the wife of popular actor Kousuke and the mother of twins Kazuma and Takuma.
Kousuke Mamizuka
Umi's husband, Kousuke Mamizuka, is a famous actor and the father of twins Kazuma and Takuma. He often worries that his job prevents him from spending enough time with his sons.
Yayoi Kumatsuka
Yayoi Kumatsuka is a drama teacher at Midorinomiya Academy and Kirin's mother. Her husband, Satoru, is a freelance photographer.
