Genji Shimada Overwatch - Figures

Overwatch is a popular team-based multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) video game that allows players to experience a first-person perspective of the combat and action in the game. Overwatch was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and was released in May 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. It was also later released for Nintendo Switch in October 2019. Overwatch has many hero characters of three different class types, namely damage heroes who deal damage with attacks, tank heroes who absorb damage, and support heroes who provide healing and/or buffs. One of the popular characters in the game is Genji Shimada, a damage hero with a variety of figurines. This figure features Genji in his classic cyborg ninja skin from Overwatch. He has a gray mechanical body that is mostly covered in silver and white armor. He wears a silver metallic helmet with a long dark gray ribbon coming out of the back. The helmet also has green lines to show where his eyes would be. The figure is easy to pose and includes his various weapons such as his katana, wakizashi, and shuriken. With the included weapons, poses can be changed to show his main attacks such as Dragonblade where Genji wields his black katana with green triangular shapes that he uses to attack enemies within his range. Genji can also be maneuvered to show his shuriken attack where he throws throwing stars with a translucent material to make the shuriken appear to be flying out of his hands. The included stand is transparent, allowing Genji to be posed mid-air to show attacks that appear to be in full action for a wider range of articulation.

Nendoroid Overwatch Genji Figure: Classic Skin Edition

Genji is the first male character to join the Nendoroid collection, which shows his popularity. This figure shows Genji in his classic skin, which is his metallic gray cyborg body with silver armor. The helmet is silver in the front and dark gray in the back with a long ribbon sculpted to appear to flow freely behind him. On the helmet, there is a light green line to show where his eyes would be. Although this is a Nendoroid, this figure has a double-jointed neck articulation to allow for a much wider range of angles than any other Nendoroid. The chest armor has been adjusted to allow his arms to be maneuverable to showcase all sorts of ninja poses that were seen in the game. Also on his chest armor, the kanji "武神" (bushin) which means god of military arts has been written as in the game. The figure is equipped with a light green dragon made of a translucent material that recreates his attacks that are shown in the animated cutscenes for a more realistic pose.

Pop! Games: Overwatch Series 4 - Genji Figure

This Genji figure shows off his features in the Pop! style that chibified him (chibi means small in Japanese). The Pop! style enlarges Genji's head considerably, making it roughly the same size as his body for a cuter effect. Genji has his classic ninja cyborg skin with a metallic gray body and white and silver armor on various parts of his body. He also has green accents on the armor to help him stand out like in the game. His helmet is silver with a bright green line to show his eyes with his ribbon coming out of the back of the helmet. Genji carries his weapons, a katana on his back and a wakizashi at his waist. Genji stands tall and looks forward with one arm raised and pointed and his own clenched into a fist near his waist as if he is ready for a fight and signaling to his opponent.

About Genji

Genji Shimada is a hero in the game Overwatch and also appears in Overwatch 2 with a different skin. He is a cyborg ninja and a damage-dealing hero class, meaning he uses his attacks to cause a lot of damage to his opponents. For this character, his main attacks are throwing stars and striking with his katana to deal damage. He also uses his wakizashi to deflect attacks and send them back at his opponent. His ultimate ability is called "Dragonblade" and allows him to deal deadly blows to all enemies within his range while wielding his katana.

Hanzo Shimada is Genji's older brother, and they lived together in the same assassin clan. When their father died, Hanzo was forced to put his younger brother's playboy lifestyle in order, but Genji refused to provoke a fight between the brothers, which left Genji on the brink of death.
