Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MEGA 39's
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Project SEGA with HATSUNE MIKU, Sega has announced a brand new Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA title coming to Nintendo Switch.
Summary
Titled, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MEGA 39 (pronounced "mega thank you"), the single-player rhythm game will come with over 100 songs showcasing the 10-year history of the SEGA collaboration project.
There are two game modes . The first is played similarly to Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Arcade. The Arcade mode is called "Arcade Mode," but it also features a Switch-only option called "Mix Mode." "Arcade Mode" uses a game layout familiar to fans of the series and features colored tiles based on the JOY-CON's alphabetical system (ABXY). Gameplay is similar to previous console versions of the game in that the left or right side of the controller can be used to hit target notes.
"Mix Mode" requires users to use the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Cons. This mode is visually completely new for Project DIVA players. Players must rotate the colored Joy-Cons to match the angle at which the target note falls. Additionally, once the target note reaches the baseline, the player must also press the Joy-Con's shoulder button to accurately hit the note.
Arcade mode currently offers five difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme, Extra Extreme, while Mix mode offers Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty levels.
When the game was first shown to the public at the Tokyo Game Show, users found Mix Mode to be extremely challenging yet incredibly fun, even on the easiest difficulty levels.
With a total of 101 songs, including songs introduced for the first time in the series, the game hopes to showcase the 10-year colorful history behind the Sega collaboration. Its theme song, written by kz (livetune) , is titled "Catch the Wave," which is also a playable song.
For those who own the PlayStation 4 version of "Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Future Tone/DX," Sega will release paid downloadable content (DLC) in 2020.
The tracklist includes hit songs such asThe World Is Mine None High-pitched None Love Password , and Unhappy Chorus None
There will be over 300 modules (the game's specific way of saying costumes), including song-based modules as well as designs created through collaboration with creators who have uploaded their works to Piapro None Catch the Wave The module is designed by LAM.
The game boasts of completely remaking the 3D animations in its music videos, giving Miku and the other Vocaloids a different look that fans will enjoy while playing their favorite songs.
T-Shirt Edit is a completely new mode in the franchise, debuting in "Hatsune Miku Project DIVA MEGA39's." In this mode, players can edit Miku's T-shirts to wear them in their favorite style using the JOY-CON buttons or the Nintendo Switch's touch screen.
There will be a limited edition pack titled "Hatsune Miku Project DIVA MEGA38's 10th Anniversary Collection." The pack will be fully illustrated by KEI and includes 5 audio CDs with a collection of the game's greatest songs, and a link to download the game's theme song, "Catch the Wave," using the SONOCA card system.
There will also be an exclusive code for the "Theme Song Pack" DLC as a pre-order bonus. Redeeming the code will unlock The Secret Garden (artist: Kosaki Satoru), Baby Kocchi Muite (ryō), Graffiti of Sekiranun (ryō), and Yume Yume (DECO*27). These four songs have been used as theme songs in previous Project DIVA games.
Although further information is scarce, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MEGA 39 is scheduled for release on February 13, 2020. The standard version will cost 5,990 yen, while the limited edition version will cost 9,990 yen. The game is currently only available in Japanese, but an international release is planned.
