Synopsis
Aoi Aioi, a second-year high school student, feels indebted to her sister Akane Aioi ever since the latter gave up her dream of going to Tokyo with her ex-boyfriend Shinnosuke Kanomura, a struggling guitarist, in order to take care of her after losing their parents in an accident 13 years ago. One day, Aoi is invited to perform as a session musician at a music festival for a famous enka singer named Dankichi Nitobe. On the same day, Shinnosuke returns to their town after a long absence, then a boy named Shinno mysteriously appears, who is actually Shinnosuke who traveled back in time 13 years ago, and Aoi falls in love for the first time... The film will focus on the relationships between these four characters.
Background
Sora no Aosa with Shiru Hito yo is a Japanese animated film scheduled for release in October 2019 in Toho theaters in Japan. The film has an original story written by Mari Okada. Tatsuyuki Nagai is the director and Mayasayoshi Tanaka is designing the characters as chief animation director. The trio worked together in a creative team called Super Peace Busters - some of their most notable works being Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day and Toradora . The film is produced by Hiroyuki Shimizu and Genki Kawamura. Masaru Yokoyama is in charge of the film's soundtrack. The film is produced by CloverWorks. The film is set in Mari Okada's hometown of Chichibu, Saitama, which is also the setting for the film. Anohana and Anthem of the Heart - another work by the trio. The opening theme song "Her Blue Sky" and the ending theme song "Mellow Blue" are both performed by Aimyon.
