About Hifumi Izanami: Background

Hifumi is one of the most popular hosts on "Fragrance." His flirtatious side and self-confidence seem to attract many women. However, despite this appearance, he is afraid of women. Therefore, Hifumi became a host in the hopes of overcoming his fear.

In high school, Hifumi befriends Honobono Keitoin. The three become good friends with Doppo Kannonzaka. However, after a traumatic incident with Honobono, Hifumi develops a severe phobia of women. He desperately tries to overcome his fears and, as a result, begins working at the Host Club at the age of 20.

When Hifumi puts on his host outfit, he transforms into a completely different person, allowing him to talk to all the women. Unfortunately, due to the nature of his job, Hifumi has also been the target of harassment. The obsessive stalker has even gone so far as to try to kill Doppo as well. With things spiraling out of control, they enlist Jakurai's help and ask if he can heal the stalker's spirit. He agrees, and they try to help the woman. However, things turn ugly when she tries to kill Hifumi and then herself so they can be "together" forever. Jakurai successfully heals the woman's spirit, and everything is resolved. After this incident, Jakurai approaches Hifumi and Doppo and gives them hypnosis microphones. They take the microphones and show Jakurai their skills, and Jakurai asks if they would team up. This marks the formation of Matenro, which represents the Shinjuku division.
