Integrity Knights - Sword Art Online

Integrity Knights (The password is unknown) seigō kishi ), referred to system-wide as Integrator (TV series) integrēta ), are dragon knights, the commanding generals of the Axiom Church and the personal guard of its pontiffQuinella. They are former dissidents, thugs, and the crème de la crème of the Human Empire's fighters who had been stripped of their memories and converted into unquestioning servitude. Initially tasked with protecting Quinella from the Cardinal, the tyrannical theocracy, and the empire's status quo, their goals began to change depending on the situation.

Names

Each Integrity Knight's name is their previous first name, followed by two English words: "Synthesis" and their ordinal number.

Background

The first Integrity Knights were Hellborn whose hidden powers had a high Quotient de transgression setting. This meant the potential for disobedience, breaking the Taboo Index restriction, and rebelling against Quinella's countrywide stasis effort. They were captured, but Quinella couldn't simply discard them since her parents forbade her from killing. So she captured them and began experiments on their Fluctlights, exploring its construction and seeking ways to manipulate it. Their memories suffered in the experiments, and they entered a stasis where their maximum health never diminished and they did nothing but continue to breathe.

After Cardinal split into his own new body and became a threat, Quinella found a new use for her traumatized captives, making them her first bodyguards. Furthermore, she had established the Four Empires Unity Tournament, and those who won it were now invited to theCentral Cathedral to undergo Quinella's Synthesis Ritual and become another Integrity Knight. Their families received rich rewards and were granted higher noble ranks, prompting all the haughty nobles and merchants to have their children trained in swordsmanship.

The Integrity Knights' memories are overridden by the idea that the Administrator summoned them from the Celestial World, so they have no connection to it. The other Knights who brought the new dissident into their ranks also necessarily have their memories altered before the new Knight joins them.

Of the thirty-one Integral Knights currently in existence, only half are former dissidents; the other half are tournament winners. Two of them, Fizel and Linel, have their own stories. They were the guinea pigs in Quinella's resurrection experiment, but it was canceled so they could choose their next Sacred Task, or Calling, for themselves. They chose to become Integral Knights, but only did so after killing the previous Synthetic Knights Twenty-eight and Twenty-nine.

Location

Since the apocalyptic phase of Project Alicization 1/4 At the beginning, twelve to thirteen knights defend Quinella in the cathedral, while eight of them guard the four passages against attacks from the Dark Territory, Fizel and Linel study law and sacred arts in the cathedral, and others maintain order in the four empires.

The Knights also travel to the area to apprehend new criminals and bring them to the Central Cathedral. They are never sent to the regions where they originate, as someone might recognize them there and, by chance, convince them that they are not celestial beings.

Equipment and statistics

High-ranking Integrity Knights wear armor and use Divine Items —class weapons from the Cathedral Armory's stock. Their Item Control and System Control Authority stats are second only to Quinella's. All Knights do not age, excel at rapid chanting, and have advanced Sacred Arts rituals at their disposal. They use dragons for transportation and during aerial battles.

Synthesis ritual

The Synthesis Ritual (シンセサイズの秘儀, Shinsesaizu no higi ) is a Supervisor-level sacred arts ritual that manipulates people's Fluctlights. The Fluctlight core must be unlocked for this, and while those who willingly submit to the ritual (such as Quinella doing it to herself) can have it removed with a simple command, the reluctant require persuasion, known as forced synthesis, which takes three days spent in continuous special rituals that first set all the necessary parameters. This ritual can only be used on a person within sight of or in physical contact with the practitioner.

The ritual is so named to imply the unification of soul and memory.

Piety Module

Integrity Knights undergo a synthesis that differs from the original "guinea pigs" in that they obtain a Piety Module (TV series) paieti mojūru ) installed in their Fluctlights. The module has the visual form of a 10 cm (3 in) long purple prism and is embedded in the victim's forehead.

Although the victim's memories must be suppressed for security reasons, memories also govern the applied skills that make the victim useful to Quinella. Thus, only personal memories are obstructed by the Piety Module, which replaces them with false ones, while enforcing blind deference to the Axiom Church.

Insistently shaking the fond personal memories to awaken them has the effect of supplanting and repelling the module, causing the prism to fall. However, the memory fragment replaced by the module must return to the person in recovery; otherwise, its flow will be interrupted and, for some, this could damage the remaining memories.
