Synopsis

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Myth of the Familia II , or Dan Machi (for short), picks up where the first season left off. Determined protagonist Bell Cranel continues his quest to become a stronger adventurer under the care and tutelage of his beloved goddess, Hestia. The Hestia Familia has grown to include several other strong members as well. Season 2 will undoubtedly continue to follow the members of the Hestia Familia from Season 1, while also introducing new friends and foes encountered during their dungeon adventures.

Background

Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is a light novel series written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda that began publication in January 2013. It has since spawned two manga series, a 2015 anime adaptation, a theatrical film, and a mobile game. A spin-off manga and anime adaptation have also been produced, titled Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Sword Oratoria , which follows the Loki Familia concurrently with the events seen in Dan Machi season 1. On February 18, 2018, production studio JC Staff announced that the second season of Dan Machi is scheduled to begin airing in July 2019, with the cast and staff reprising their roles for the title.

Characters

Bell Crane (Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Japanese); Bryson Baugus (English))

Bell is the teenage protagonist of the series. He is distinguished by thick white hair and red eyes. Bell began the series as the only follower of the Hestia Familia. His level was very low when we first met him, and he almost died in a dungeon, but he was saved by a talented girl named Ais Wallenstein, whom he quickly respected and fell in love with. Since then, Bell has endured some grueling battles and has grown significantly. He has unique potential.

Hestia (Voiced by: Inori Minase (Japanese); Luci Christian (English))

Hesita is a petite goddess with twin-tailed black hair. She is known for her short white dress and full bust wrapped in a blue ribbon. Although she has shown romantic feelings toward Bell, he mostly ignores her affection. She sometimes acts like a little sister to Bell, and other times like a protective mother to him.

Ais Wallenstein (Voiced by: Saori Onishi (Japanese); Shelley Calene-Black (English))

Ais Wallenstein is an adventurer from the Loki Familia. She has blonde hair and golden eyes. She is generally calm and doesn't show much emotion, but she has grown attached to Bell. Although she is a skilled fighter and a warrior of a superior level to Bell, she doesn't look down on him and is instead interested in his rapid progression.

Liliruca Arde (Voiced by: Maaya Uchida (Japanese); Hilary Haag (English))

Lilruca Arde was a member of the Soma Familia. She had been traumatized by adventurers who mistreated her and initially thought Bell would be the same. She betrayed him during an adventure to get what she needed, but he rushed to save her as she was about to die. After that, she fell in love with Bell and joined the Hestia Familia as a support. She is jealous of the other women around Bell and dislikes that he thinks of her as a little sister.

Welf Crozzo (Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya (Japanese); David Wald (English))

Welf Crozzo is a talented blacksmith with short, spiky red hair and a blue scarf around his neck. Hailing from a noble family and a former member of the Hephaestus Familia, he hated his ability to craft magical swords and instead wanted to surpass Hephaestus in his own way. He joined the Hestia Familia and prefers that Bell only craft armor that he makes.

Mikoto Yamato (Voiced by: Chinatsu Akasaki (Japanese); Margaret Lewis (English))

Hailing from the Takemikazuchi family, Mikoto is an honorable warrior who took a temporary leave of absence from her family to assist the Hestia family in the war game. She wears a red shoulder guard and a purple kimono. As her name suggests, she hails from the Far East. Mikoto possesses powerful gravity magic.

Lion Ryuu (Voiced by: Saori Hayami (Japanese); Genevieve Simmons (English))

Ryuu Lion is a house elf of the Fertility Hostess, but she was once an adventurer. She was disgusted by the way her fellow elves viewed other races and left her job alongside them to protect a sacred tree in the forest. After that, she joined the Astraea Familia, but all the members were murdered by a group called Evilus. In a quest for revenge, she killed everyone associated with Evilus and became a fugitive. The staff of the Fertility Hostess took her in, where she met Bell and developed a crush on him.

Aisha Belka (Voiced by: Akeno Watanabe (Japanese))

Aisha is an adventurer from the Amazonian race affiliated with the Hermes Familia. She wears revealing clothing and makes Bell blush with her flirtations.

Daphne Lauros (Voiced by: Wakana Kowaka (Japanese))

Daphne is an adventurer from the Apollo family. She was grateful to Apollo for taking her in but hated him for forcing her to join his family. She has shoulder-length brown hair. Her abilities include protective magic.

Cassandra Illion (Voiced by: Ayumi Mano (Japanese))

Cassandra is Daphne's friend and a member of the Apollo family. She is a shy young girl who has visions of the future.

Hyacinthe Clio (Voice of: KENN (Japanese))

Hyakinthos is the male captain of the Apollo Familia. He despises Bell and envies the attention Bell receives from Apollo. He is a swordsman capable of fire magic.

Apollo (Voiced by: Ryota Ohsaka (Japanese))

Apollo is a handsome god and the head of the Apollo family who stubbornly pursues his desires. He used to flirt with Hestia in heaven, much to her disapproval.

Sanjono Haruhime (Voiced by: Haruka Chisuga (Japanese))

Sanjono Haruhime is a kind, well-mannered, and shy girl of the Fox race. She was a prostitute in training but collapsed whenever she saw a naked man, and as such, she is still a virgin. She has a unique ability to raise her target's level and keeps this secret, as it is highly sought after among adventurers.
