Kaido vs. Whitebeard: Who Would Win?
Kaido vs. Whitebeard: Who Would Win in a Fight?

The Four Emperors (Yonko) of One Piece are among the most powerful characters in the entire franchise and also among the most intriguing. Their team hasn't changed much over the years, and they are considered a formidable force by virtually everyone, rivaling other major players. In this article, we'll compare two of the emperors to determine who is stronger and who would win; the characters in question are Kaido and the late Whitebeard.
At his peak, Whitebeard was among the most powerful characters in the entire series. He was a powerful captain with a very powerful Devil Fruit, and he would have defeated Kaido in a direct fight. While Kaido was, indeed, a powerful pirate, he didn't dare cross Whitebeard while she was alive because he knew the late captain would have beaten him without much difficulty.
The rest of this article will expand on the answer given above, as we'll compare Kaido and Whitebeard in more detail. Through several categories, you'll see who is the stronger of the two and why our answer is the way it is—that is, why Whitebeard would, according to our analysis, be able to ultimately defeat Kaido.
Physical powers
Thanks to his muscle mass, Kaido possesses enormous physical strength. He has managed to capsize nine giant prison ships. Kaido is powerful enough that his scream alone causes visible damage to the area around him. One of Kaido's greatest strengths is his inability to die; in fact, he has suffered seven defeats, been captured eighteen times by the navy or enemies, been tortured over a thousand times, and ultimately been sentenced to death forty times. However, no execution, whatsoever, has worked.
Additionally, Kaido jumped 10,000 meters above the ground, sending out a powerful shockwave that could have sunk a nearby ship, but he only suffered from a headache; suicide became a hobby for him. Like Shanks and Edward Newgate, Kaido and Big Mom were able to split the sky in two with a single blow, proving they were as powerful as Charlotte Linlin. Big Mom has yet to be defeated, which is a strong indication of Kaido's strength.
Whitebeard was known as the strongest man in the world. He had been the strongest for over twenty years, and despite his aging, his physical strength was still far superior to that of a giant. He also possessed immense endurance, allowing him to survive Squard's stabbing, struck by Akainu, who used the same weapon Ace used to kill him, a Kizaru bolt, and countless gunshots, cannonballs, and sword strikes from the Marines while he was still able to defeat the admiral. At his peak, he was able to take on Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, in a hand-to-hand combat lasting three days and three nights.
Despite his failing health, Whitebeard was still considered the strongest and most dangerous pirate in the world, which raises the question of how powerful he was at his peak. He could move at considerable speeds, having managed to sneak up on Akainu, who only noticed when soldiers warned him to look behind him. The fact that he launched a surprise attack against the admiral, who had very keen hearing, also shows that Whitebeard could be incredibly stealthy, despite his gigantic size.
Kaido is a character known as the strongest beast in the world, while Whitebeard was known as the strongest person in the world. And while there may be a slight difference in their powers and abilities, we ultimately couldn't objectively determine it, so we decided to divide the points in this category.
Points: Kaido 1, Whitebeard 1
Devil Fruit
Kaido ate the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, a Zoan-type Mythical Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into an oriental dragon, similar to Momonosuke, the main difference being that Kaido is gigantic in size in dragon form and seems to control his transformations.
However, he will be unable to maintain this appearance if he is hit by too many powerful strikes, such as those launched by Luffy. He can also growl loud enough to unleash lightning. The entire island of Onigashima has been seen to be able to be lifted by Kaido, and he appears to be able to move it all the way to the Flower Capital.
Whitebeard gained the ability to slice through the air and anything in his attack path after consuming the Gura Gura no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. Then, by being able to grasp the air with his fingers and slice through very large areas of land and sea, he could cause them to shudder and trigger earthquakes and tsunamis. By combining it with his Bisento, he could also use this ability to perform slashing attacks. He is also able to resist Aokiji's freezing with his noisy tremors. Furthermore, the Sabaody Archipelago experienced tsunamis thanks to Blackbeard, who, after stealing Whitebeard's powers, never mastered the fruit's powers and abilities.
Kaido's Dragon Devil Fruit proved extremely powerful, but it couldn't do much against the earth-shattering Gura Gura no Mi, one of the most powerful Devil Fruits of all time. Even Blackbeard, who possesses an equally powerful fruit, was afraid of the Gura Gura no Mi, only daring to steal it when Whitebeard was already on the verge of death. Therefore, Whitebeard wins this point.

RIGHT
One of the few individuals to master all three varieties of Haki is Kaidou. Kaidou was shown to be able to command Kenbunshoku Haki by detecting Kozuki Oden's presence on Enma while Roronoa Zoro was using it. After her and Big Mom's joint strike, she also used it to detect the voices of supernovae, allowing her to pretend they were still alive.
Like Charlotte Katakuri or Luffy, Kaidou's control allows him to use it in sophisticated ways and predict the future. Kaidou's mastery of Busoshoku Haki is also exceptional; according to Law, the Royal Haki was too strong for her to move Kaidou directly into her room. He is also able to have skin that is virtually impervious to common attacks thanks to his Busoshoku Haki.
Kaidou is one of a very small number of people capable of using Haoshoku Haki. Upon colliding with Charlotte Linlin using her Kanabō, they both generated a typical lightning discharge. Kaidou can use the advanced variant of Haoshoku Haki, imbuing his Kanabō with his will, which violently expels black lightning from its tip and causes it to expand towards his enemies.

All three varieties of Haki have been expertly mastered by Whitebeard. His highly developed mastery of Observation Haki is shown in flashbacks with Ace, where Whitebeard easily managed to defeat him while he dozed off. However, during the Summit War, this ability appears to have diminished, as Squardo hits him with an attack that Marco judges Whitebeard to have easily dodged.
Additionally, it appears he was able to integrate his Armament Haki into his Bisento, giving him the ability to demolish ships or even small settlements. Whitebeard frequently used his Armament Haki against admirals. Whitebeard was using Conqueror's Haki at the time of the Battle of Marineford, according to Fossa. When Newgate and Gol D. Roger clashed while traveling together, they used it.
The fact that these two characters actually master all three types of Haki is impressive, but it's clear that Whitebeard's mastery is a level higher than Kaido's. Kaido is extremely powerful and skilled, but Whitebeard was even more impressive, which is why he also earned this point.

Weapons
Kaidou uses his Hassaikai, a giant metal Kanabō full of spikes and adapted to his size, against his opponents. In addition to its immense physical strength, he can use it to crush his opponents and send them great distances and was able to knock Luffy unconscious with a single blow, breaking the enormous defensive power of his Busoshoku Haki enhanced with his Gear Fourth form. Thanks to this, he was also able to block Charlotte Linlin's attack with Napoleon, an extremely powerful sword. Kaidou killed Kozuki Oden using a double-barreled pistol, but it is unknown what happened to this weapon today and if he still has it in his possession.

Edward Newgate's favorite weapon was his Bisento, a massive Japanese halberd, which he used constantly and called Murakumogiri. Murakumogiri was an exceptionally large weapon that matched Whitebeard's height of nearly five meters. By concentrating his Haki into his Bisento, Whitebeard could send dozens of opponents flying with a single blow. The Bisento is a completely frightening weapon on its own, but when combined with Whitebeard's enormous strength and fighting skills, it is nearly lethal to anyone. As proof, it allowed him to go toe-to-toe with Shanks's sword, which caused an atmospheric-like tear in the sky during their exchange of blows.
Additionally, the Bisento is very durable, as it was able to stop Akainu's magma attacks without melting, or a two-handed charge from Giant John without flinching. Whitebeard often used his Bisento alongside his Haki and Devil Fruit powers in order to inflict as much devastating damage as possible with his attacks or even injure Logia-type Devil Fruit users, which is exceptionally difficult to do.
There's no doubt that Whitebeard is a much more skilled user of his weapon than Kaido ever was. Whitebeard was one of the best swordsmen in the entire series, and that's why this last point undoubtedly goes to him.

Kaido vs. Whitebeard: Who Would Win?
And now, let's move on to the most important and interesting section of our article: the analysis. Here, we'll take what we've discovered about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would help them (or not) in their fight against each other. Let's continue.
In all honesty, it wasn't really a debate at any point. Sure, if you listen to the internet trolls, Whitebeard would lose because he's dead and therefore can't fight Kaido; but Kaido's fate is also unknown at the time, even though he's probably alive, since we never saw him die. But, from an objective perspective, we saw Kaido at his best, while Whitebeard's peak is a legendary story in itself.
The only category in which Kaido could come close to Whitebeard is brute strength, but we honestly think Whitebeard is a bit stronger, though we didn't want to split atoms here because it would be impossible to properly compare their strengths. In every other aspect, Whitebeard is absolutely superior, as evidenced by the fact that Kaido never actually attacked Whitebeard, and even Whitebeard, who is vile and evil, only attacked him when he was already down and used Whitebeard's weakened state to defeat him. Under other circumstances, Whitebeard would have defeated him despite his old age and declining health.
Whitebeard's Gura Gura no Mi is one of the most powerful Devil Fruits in existence, as it can shatter entire continents due to its enormous strength. In addition, Whitebeard is a more skilled and dangerous Haki user than Kaido, despite both being proficient in all three types of Haki. Ultimately, it is a well-known fact that Whitebeard is more proficient with weapons than Kaido, who relied primarily on his brute strength in combat.
When you add all these facts together, it's clear why Whitebeard is so much more powerful and why this duel wasn't really up for debate. Whitebeard is clearly the stronger of the two, as the numbers reflect, and we have absolutely no doubt that if they had fought, Whitebeard would have been the victor. Still, this clash would have been one of the most epic in the series.
