Kaido vs. Blackbeard: Who Would Win in a Fight?
Kaido vs. Blackbeard: Who Would Win in a Fight?

The Four Emperors (Yonko) of One Piece are among the most powerful characters in the entire franchise and also among the most intriguing. Their team hasn't changed much over the years, and they are considered a formidable force by virtually everyone, rivaling other major players. In this article, we'll compare two of the emperors to determine who is stronger and who would win; the characters in question are Kaido and Blackbeard.
Blackbeard would certainly be able to defeat Kaido. Sure, he's not as powerful as him, but he possesses two incredibly powerful Devil Fruits and is one of the most vile fighters in the series. Blackbeard would resort to every trick in the book to defeat Kaido, and with the help of his two Devil Fruits, one of which once belonged to Whitebeard, he would easily defeat Kaido, despite the difference in their strengths.
The rest of this article will expand on the answer given above, as we'll compare Kaido and Blackbeard in more detail. Through several categories, you'll see who is the stronger of the two and why our answer is the way it is—that is, why Blackbeard would, according to our analysis, be able to ultimately defeat Kaido.
Physical powers
Thanks to his muscle mass, Kaido possesses enormous physical strength. He has managed to capsize nine giant prison ships. Kaido is powerful enough that his scream alone causes visible damage to the area around him. One of Kaido's greatest strengths is his inability to die; in fact, he has suffered seven defeats, been captured eighteen times by the navy or enemies, been tortured over a thousand times, and ultimately been sentenced to death forty times. However, no execution, whatsoever, has worked.
Additionally, Kaido jumped 10,000 meters above the ground, sending out a powerful shockwave that could have sunk a nearby ship, but he only suffered from a headache; suicide became a hobby for him. Like Shanks and Edward Newgate, Kaido and Big Mom were able to split the sky in two with a single blow, proving they were as powerful as Charlotte Linlin. Big Mom has yet to be defeated, which is a strong indication of Kaido's strength.

Teach has incredible endurance, as evidenced by the fact that he was able to withstand a direct earthquake strike to the face and neck from Whitebeard without losing consciousness, especially since his Devil Fruit grants him the ability to withstand even more damage. He also avoided permanent injury from a direct strike from the Murakumogiri and was able to withstand a kick to the head from the supernova Jewelry Bonney.
He was hit in the chest by two fire spears during his fight with Ace, but was able to recover after extinguishing the flames (albeit with the help of his logia powers). Another example of his incredible courage is the fact that he survived two intense attacks—one from Sengoku in his daibutsu form and another from Luffy using Gear Second—while suffering only minor injuries each time.
Teach also possesses incredible physical strength, which is demonstrated when he severely injures both Ace and Luffy with a single blow, sending them both crashing back with incredible force and distance and even drawing blood (though both times he did not allow them to use their powers). Ace is fire and Luffy is rubber, but Teach still managed to injure them both.
Although Blackbeard is as resilient as they come, he is nothing compared to Kaido's incredible physical strength. If this were a simple fistfight between these two captains, it's more than obvious that Kaido would be able to destroy Blackbeard, which is why he gets the first point.

Devil Fruit
Kaido ate the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, a Zoan-type Mythical Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into an oriental dragon, similar to Momonosuke, the main difference being that Kaido is gigantic in size in dragon form and seems to control his transformations.
However, he will be unable to maintain this appearance if he is hit by too many powerful strikes, such as those launched by Luffy. He can also growl loud enough to unleash lightning. The entire island of Onigashima has been seen to be able to be lifted by Kaido, and he appears to be able to move it all the way to the Flower Capital.
Blackbeard consumed the Yami Yami no Mi, a Devil Fruit similar to Logia. This fruit allows the person to absorb anything they choose, mastering darkness and becoming. It is an extremely powerful fruit, similar to Sea Granite, which can be used to negate the effects of other Devil Fruits. He can use a vortex to pull in any Devil Fruit owner, allowing him to attack even if the enemy fruit is Logia.
Thus, we can understand why Shanks, one of the Four Emperors, visited Whitebeard and advised him not to hunt Blackbeard. Following the events of Impel Down, Blackbeard traveled to Marineford and killed Whitebeard, who was already seriously injured. He killed Whitebeard and placed his body and himself under a blanket.
It was thought impossible for him to possess two Devil Fruit abilities when he emerged with the Tremor ability. We still don't know how he obtained it, or how Teach will handle these two powers. Marco claims this is due to the peculiar and aberrant nature of his body.
In this category, Blackbeard clearly wins. Not only does he have two Devil Fruits, but each one is individually more powerful than Kaido's. Having two Devil Fruits has made Blackbeard one of the strongest characters in the series, which is why he wins this point.

RIGHT
One of the few individuals to master all three varieties of Haki is Kaidou. Kaidou was shown to be able to command Kenbunshoku Haki by detecting Kozuki Oden's presence on Enma while Roronoa Zoro was using it. After her and Big Mom's joint strike, she also used it to detect the voices of supernovae, allowing her to pretend they were still alive.
Like Charlotte Katakuri or Luffy, Kaidou's control allows him to use it in sophisticated ways and predict the future. Kaidou's mastery of Busoshoku Haki is also exceptional; according to Law, the Royal Haki was too strong for her to move Kaidou directly into her room. He is also able to have skin that is virtually impervious to common attacks thanks to his Busoshoku Haki.
Kaidou is one of a very small number of people capable of using Haoshoku Haki. Upon colliding with Charlotte Linlin using her Kanabō, they both generated a typical lightning discharge. Kaidou can use the advanced variant of Haoshoku Haki, imbuing his Kanabō with his will, which violently expels black lightning from its tip and causes it to expand towards his enemies.
The teacher can use two of the three types of Haki. He can use Observation Haki, being able to measure Luffy's strength twice, and his latent Haki. Teach can use Armament Haki, but his prowess is unknown.
Interestingly, Blackbeard isn't a skilled Haki user, which is why he never mastered the final and most powerful form of Haki, Haoshoku Haki. Since Kaido can use all three types of Haki and Blackbeard can only use two, we have to give this point to the former.

Weapons
Kaidou uses his Hassaikai, a giant metal Kanabō full of spikes and adapted to his size, against his opponents. In addition to its immense physical strength, he can use it to crush his opponents and send them great distances and was able to knock Luffy unconscious with a single blow, breaking the enormous defensive power of his Busoshoku Haki enhanced with his Gear Fourth form. Thanks to this, he was also able to block Charlotte Linlin's attack with Napoleon, an extremely powerful sword. Kaidou killed Kozuki Oden using a double-barreled pistol, but it is unknown what happened to this weapon today and if he still has it in his possession.
When the Whitebeard Pirates began guarding Fish-Man Island, Teach began using claws on his left hand as well as his right hand, which he previously only used for smaller claws. Along with the rest of his gang, he was seen carrying a flintlock when he struck Whitebeard, and he also had three pistols strapped to his belt. He was only seen firing at the critically injured Whitebeard from point-blank range, an attack the emperor barely survived. As a result, his accuracy regarding them is not entirely clear.
And while neither Kaido nor Teach are among the best weapon users in the series, Teach's main focus is his Devil Fruit powers, which is why he's never been that skilled with weapons. With that in mind, this point must also go to Kaido, but despite the final point, you'll be surprised by our conclusion.

Kaido vs. Blackbeard: Who Would Win?
And now, let's move on to the most important and interesting section of our article: the analysis. Here, we'll take what we've discovered about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would help them (or not) in their fight against each other. Let's continue.
Now, this is a first, even for us. Namely, the points are pretty clear on this one, as they clearly indicate that Kaido is stronger than Blackbeard in three of the four categories analyzed above. In all the other comparisons written so far, this would mean that Kaido is the stronger of the two and wins this duel. In fact, he is stronger than Blackbeard, he knows all three types of Haki and is more skilled with weapons. Yet, he would lose to Blackbeard, we are certain of it! Why? The answer lies in Devil Fruits.
Namely, Blackbeard is the only known person to possess two Devil Fruits at the same time, a feat believed to be impossible as the second automatically cancels out the first. However, due to the distorted nature of his own soul, Blackbeard is actually capable of using them both, and we can only confirm that the Yami Yami no Mi and the Gura Gura no Mi are both extremely powerful Devil Fruits.
In a previous article, we established that Whitebeard, the former user of the Gura Gura no Mi, could have defeated Kaido with just his Devil Fruit powers. Now, Blackbeard possesses both the Gura Gura no Mi and his own Yami Yami no Mi, which is also more powerful than Kaido's Devil Fruit. When these two powers are combined, Kaido cannot possibly defeat Blackbeard, who is also exceptionally resilient.
This is why we have Blackbeard as the winner of this duel, even though the points are heavily weighted in Kaido's favor.
