Synopsis

In a world where jet ski racing with two-person teams consisting of a "Jetter" who drives the jet ski and a "Shooter" who attacks opponents with a water gun is a major sport, Rin Namiki is the daughter of a legendary Jetter, and she dreams of one day racing a jet ski herself. She leaves her hometown to move to Asakusa, Tokyo, where she meets a cool bishoujo beauty named Misa Aoi and the two become partners. Their bond strengthens as they compete against their rivals in breathtaking jet ski races.

Background

Kandagawa Jet Girls is a multimedia project created by Kadokawa, Marvelous, and Egg Firm. The main producer of the project is Kenichiro Takaki, who also worked on Senran Kagura and Valkyrie Drive . An anime is currently in development at TNK, with Hiraku Kaneko directing, Go Zappa writing the script, Tsutomu Miyazawa adapting the original Hanaharu Naruko characters into an anime, and Koichi Mugitani and Nanashiki Yamamoto designing the mechanics. The opening theme song is "Kandagawa Jet Girls" by Yu Sasahara and Riko Kohara in their respective characters. The anime will premiere in Japan in October 2019.

Characters

Rin Namiki (Voice of: Yu Sasahara)

Originally from Ojika, Nagasaki Prefecture, Rin moved to Asakusa, Tokyo and began attending Asakusa Girls' High School as a freshman. Her mother was a famous Jetter, and Rin herself possesses exceptional skills as a Jetter, but she has never competed in an official race before.

Misa Aoi (Voice of: Riko Kohara)

Misa, a first-year student at Asakusa Girls' High School, loves jet ski racing but gave it up for some reason. However, she starts racing again after meeting Rin.

Emily Orange (Voice of: Ai Fairouz)

A sophomore at the Japanese branch of California Coast High School, Emily has great respect for ninjas and is known to use "gozaru" in her speech.

Kuromatsu Manpuku (Voice of: Aya Suzaki)

A third-year student at Musashi Girls' Private Academy, Kuromatsu is a glutton who is always eating something. She is terrible at dieting.

Inori Misuda (Voice of: Aya Uchida)

A second-year student at Seibashi University High School, Inori is a polite and kind shrine girl, but she can be scary when she gets angry. Jokes sometimes go over her head. She is a marksman who uses a Gatling gun.

Fuka Tamaki (Voice of: Ayaka Asai)

A second-year student at Seibashi University High School, Fuka rarely went out as a child and spent her time reading, so she speaks as she would in a note.

Kaguya Shijuin (Voice of: Azusa Tadokoro)

A third-year student at Musashi Private Girls Academy, Kaguya is a very confident and proud ojou-sama.

Manatsu Shiraishi (Voice of: Chika Anzai)

A second-year student at Shinjuku Ritsudababa Girls' College, Manatsu is a kuro gyaru who is generally pretty average.

Yuzu Midorikawa (Voice of: Kaori Maeda)

A third-year student at Shinjuku Ritsudababa Girls' College, Yuzu is a marksman who prefers a shotgun.

Jennifer Peach (Voice of: Lynn)

A sophomore at California Coast High School's Japanese branch, Jennifer is an American studying abroad. She loves Japanese culture, especially the samurai.

Pan Tina (Voice of: Naomi Ozora)

A first-year student at CS Production Academy, Pan Tina is a member of the Hell's Kitchen team with her twin sister Pan Tsui. Her idol personality is that of a "moody cat."

Pan Tsui (Voice of: Rumi Okubo)

A first-year student at CS Production Academy, Pan Tsui is a member of the Hell's Kitchen team with her twin sister Pan Tina. She is gaining attention as an idol.
