Kikyou – Ball of Death – Daiki Kougyou

Kikyou – Ball of Death – Daiki Kougyou

Hello everyone, I've written a new article about Kikyou from Death Ball. Death Ball is a manga written by Mizuta Kenji, appearing in Comic Fire. It hasn't been translated to my knowledge.

Kiyou was released in December 2020 and is 1/6 scale and with 260mm and the added volume of the character, she has a pretty impressive appearance. The sculptor in charge was Tsutakaze Toshi.
The figure was made by Daiki Kougyou.

I've always been a fan, their selection of characters to turn into figurines is often really good, they are mainly curvy erotic manga characters, which range from demon girls, sexy housewives, girlfriends or Walkure Romanze characters.

The character was illustrated by Akasa Ai. The figure contains the following parts included in the box, a green grass base, a staff as a weapon (the small circles at the top can be rotated), there are two hair pieces; one with a visor and one without, interchangeable arms and a torso without clothes are also included.

Obviously, Kikyou is a pointy-eared elf, I mainly ordered her because of that, which might be a bad impulse to spend 20,000 yen.

Kikyou is a pretty elf, her pretty head is superb. Her face is pretty, on one hand it gives off a mature maternal warmth, but it also looks young and bubbly. The eye stickers are very well done. The nose is nicely sculpted, but her open mouth is really remarkable with its level of detail and the addition of a tongue. What I also really like about her is her beautiful hair, her sculpting and coloring are superb.

I think the figure isn't bad at all, but I'll detail its few flaws and good points in the following text.

Kikyou is a very beautiful large figure, she has a superb outfit. The cape and dress create a good combination. You can display her with or without the cape, I like her with just the cocktail dress and choker.

Everything looks nice when she's fully or partially dressed, she holds the magic staff tightly under her chest, which is fun. The cape that covers her shoulders has a nice pattern.

Daiki Kougyou figures almost always feature a disassembly feature. This allows for different display options. When swapping parts, color transfers can occur. These paint transfers are often easy to remove, but it's still annoying.

In the nude display option, her breasts and wide hips are exposed. In any case, I prefer the clothed display option, the nude display option is not as beautiful as on other Daiki Kougyou figures.

The cocktail dress has a figure-hugging cut and highlights the beautiful figure, with the midriff partially exposed. The blue color is truly stunning and bold, and the white details enhance the contrast. The bare leg area between the boots and the dress is very attractive.

Overall, the figures look nice and the face is just gorgeous with the detailed sculpt and an adorable happy expression. The overall quality is good, the paint is applied cleanly and there are no rough areas or unsightly seam lines on the sculpt. The only major flaw is that the back of the interchangeable torso doesn't line up properly.
