Kinemon vs. Kaido: Who Will Win in a Fight?
Kinemon vs. Kaido: Who Will Win in a Fight?

One Piece is an anime that certainly has its share of strong and powerful characters. Kaido of the Beasts is one of these characters, as he is considered one of the strongest characters in the entire series. Although his role has been reduced since his defeat by Luffy in Wano Country, he is still a formidable character and ripe for comparison. In this article, we will revisit the fight he had with Kin'emon to tell you who is the stronger fighter between the two.
Individually, Kin'emon doesn't stand much of a chance against Kaido and would ultimately lose. Kin'emon is a formidable and quite powerful swordsman, but he can't do much against Kaido's brute strength combined with his combat experience and Devil Fruit. Because of this, Kaido of the Beasts would defeat Kin'emon with relative ease.
The rest of this article will expand on the answer given above, as we'll compare Kin'emon and Kaido in more detail. Through several categories, you'll see who is stronger and why our answer is the way it is, meaning why Kaido would, according to our analysis, be able to defeat Kin'emon. Thanks to the One Piece Wiki for the information on some of the powers and abilities.
Physical powers
As a samurai of Wano Country, Kin'emon possesses tremendous resistance to pain and cold; his head is able to withstand Sanji's powerful kicks, and his torso can also withstand the cold that normal people would die from hypothermia. Even after being dismembered, Kin'emon was able to fight with his legs, recklessly attacking Luffy when Luffy found him.

Thanks to his muscle mass, Kaido possesses enormous physical strength. He has managed to capsize nine giant prison ships. Kaido is powerful enough that his scream alone causes visible damage to the area around him. One of Kaido's greatest strengths is his inability to die; in fact, he has suffered seven defeats, been captured eighteen times by the navy or enemies, been tortured over a thousand times, and ultimately been sentenced to death forty times. However, no execution, whatsoever, has worked.
Kaido also jumped 10,000 meters from the sky to the ground, creating a massive shockwave strong enough to sink a nearby ship, and was left with a headache; suicide became a hobby for him. Kaido is as powerful as Charlotte Linlin, being able to fight on equal terms during their fight; like Shanks and Edward Newgate, Kaido and Big Mom were able to split the sky in two with a single blow. So far, no one has been able to stand up to Big Mom, which speaks volumes about Kaido's power.
Although Kin'smon's physical powers aren't entirely clear, as it's never been clearly shown how powerful he is, we do know that he's not as powerful as Kaido. Comparing Kaido's abilities during his fights with Luffy, we believe he's much stronger than Kin'emon.

Devil Fruit
Kin'emon ate the Fuku Fuku no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to create clothing or disguises for anyone, including himself; if one places a leaf or stone on their head, which he can then transform by saying "Poof" into the necessary outfit as long as he can visualize it. The items that manifest through his powers are not illusions, as they are tangible enough to be felt by those who wear them.
The clothes created with his power can also be used for other purposes, such as keeping the wearer warm when in a cold climate. This ability is only dispelled if the clothes are removed. As with all Devil Fruit users, it freezes upon contact with water. Despite this, the clothes created remain as long as they are worn. This fruit has not yet been clearly identified, as even Kin'emon does not know its exact name.
Kaido ate the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, a Zoan-type Mythical Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into an oriental dragon, similar to Momonosuke, the main difference being that Kaido is gigantic in size in dragon form and seems to control his transformations.
However, he cannot maintain this appearance if he takes too many powerful blows to keep up, such as the ones Luffy dealt him. He is also capable of causing lightning by roaring loudly enough. Kaido has also been shown to be able to lift the entire island of Onigashima and appeared to be able to move it all the way to the Flower Capital.
Kin'emon's Devil Fruit is quite useful, but not powerful. This is why it is practically useless compared to Kaido's Devil Power, and why the Yonko also wins this point.

RIGHT
Kin'emon has been shown to be able to use two of the three types of Haki. Kin'emon has been shown to be able to use Kenbunshoku Haki. Even after being dismembered by Law, his legs and torso were able to fight, even without his head, against various enemies. Kin'emon's legs indicate, using his farts, that he can sense other people's "aura": he can even sense "aura" with just his legs or torso, and he uses this to attack his opponents.
Additionally, his separate body parts moved by "sensing" his surroundings (though his legs eventually became attached to the Dragon). Kin'emon has been shown to know how to control Busoshoku Haki, imbuing katanas with it in an attempt to stop Doflamingo's Torikago alongside Zoro and Kanjuro.
Kaidou is one of the few people who can control all three types of Haki. Kaidou was shown to have control over Kenbunshoku Haki by detecting the presence of Kozuki Oden on Enma as it was used by Roronoa Zoro. She also used it to detect the voices of the supernovae following her combined attack with Big Mom's, allowing her to confirm that they were still alive.
Kaidou's control is such that, like Charlotte Katakuri or Luffy, she is able to use it in advanced ways and thus see into the future. Kaidou possesses a high level of Busoshoku Haki, with Law stating that she could not directly move Kaidou to her room because Royal Haki was too strong. Her Busoshoku Haki also allows her to have skin that is virtually invulnerable to normal attacks.
Kaidou is one of the few people in the world capable of using Haoshoku Haki. When they collided with Charlotte Linlin using her Kanabo, they both generated a typical lightning discharge. Kaidou can use the advanced variant of Haoshoku Haki, imbuing his Kanabo with his will, which violently expels black lightning from its tip and causes it to expand towards his enemies.
We don't have much to say here, as Kaido is capable of using all three types of Haki, while Kin'emon can only use two. That's why Kaido also wins this point.

Weapons
Once his body is whole again, Kin'emon quickly demonstrates his sword fighting style by attacking the slime using a fighting style called Kitsunebi-ryu. He uses either a one-sword or two-sword style. He claims that his sword has the ability to burn his opponents, hence his nickname "Fire Fox." He slices Smiley, who explodes, but surprisingly, no one is caught in the explosion.
Kin'emon reveals that he was able to cut through the explosion thanks to his technique, which burns anything its blade cuts, including fire: according to him, this is the secret power of his technique. He was also later shown to be able to cut through iron, as demonstrated by cutting the emergency shutters in Caesar's laboratory.

Kaidou wields Hassaikai, a giant metal kanabo, covered in spikes and adapted to his size. In addition to its immense physical strength, he can use it to crush his opponents and send them flying great distances. He was able to knock Luffy unconscious with a single blow, breaking the enormous defensive power of his Busoshoku Haki enhanced with his Gear Fourth form. With this, he was also able to block Charlotte Linlin's attack with Napoleon, an extremely powerful sword. Kaidou executed Kozuki Oden with a double-barreled pistol; it is unknown what happened to this weapon today or if he still has it.
If it had been Oden, Kaido would not have received any points in this category, but since Kin'emon isn't really good at outsmarting Kaido in a sword fight, but is skilled enough to parry him, we split the points in this category.

Kinemon vs. Kaido: Who Wins?
The points actually show a clear difference in favor of Kaido, and we have to agree with that. Kaido is stronger, there's no denying that. He's more powerful, he uses Haki better, and his Devil Fruit is much more powerful than Kin'emon's. On the other hand, Kin'emon could fight him on equal terms in a sword fight, but that's all he could do. Interestingly, Kin'emon never actually fought Kaido individually, but he fought and severely injured him as part of a group. So, let's quickly recap that fight before we conclude this article.
When Kanjuro and his army were defeated, Kin'emon and Denjiro joined the rest of Pods and Izo. Afterward, they entered Kaidou's castle, headed to the main stage, and launched a group attack on Kaidou. Falling to the lower level, the Pods managed to inflict injuries on Kaidou. When the alliance mobilized and attacked the Beast Pirates, Kaidou transformed into his dragon form and flew up to the skull roof, where the Pods caught him.
On the rooftop, the Pods prepared to fight Kaidou with the help of the Mink Tribe. As Jack fought the Mink Tribe, Kin'emon prepared to help them, but Inuarashi and Nekomamushi intervened after transforming into their sulong forms and told him they would take care of him. After Jack and his group were defeated, the Pods and Izo resumed their confrontation with Kaidou.
As the Emperor attempted to burn the samurai with his fire breath, Kin'emon cut through the flames and slashed Kaidou's mouth. This cut began the no-holds-barred fight, forcing him and Ashura Doji, as well as Denjiro and Inuarashi, to make a cut across his scar with togen totsuka, just like twenty years ago. Kaidou responded with a roar that created wind scythes, and Kin'emon was alarmed when Kikunojo's left arm was severed.
Izo wrapped a tourniquet around Kikunojo's arm, and Kin'emon cauterized the wound. Kaidou reverted to his human form, praising the samurai for his determination and commenting that death completes a person. Kin'emon sneered in return, saying that losing to Kaidou brought no honor. Continuing the battle, Kaidou began overwhelming the Red Scabbards and then incapacitated them.
Big Mom, Kid, Killer, Zoro, Luffy, and Law later arrived on the rooftop. Luffy quickly checked on Kin'emon and his group, and Kin'emon tearfully begged him to take Wano's fate upon his shoulders, to which Luffy agreed. At Luffy's request, Law teleported the Pods to safety. Apparently, they ended up in the treasure room on the second floor, where a mysterious figure was tending to their grievous injuries.
And so the fight between the Scabbards—Kinemon included—and Kaido unfolded. Kaido was ultimately defeated by Luffy, and Kinemon survived the fight.
