Masako Nozawa Voice Talent - Dragon Ball
Masako Nozawa (born October 26, 1936 in Nippori, Arakawa, Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese voice actress affiliated with Aoni Production and Office Nozawa who provides the voice of the protagonist Son Goku in the Dragon Ball anime series, a Saiyan originally sent to Earth to conquer and destroy, but who becomes the hero of the human race. Masako Nozawa has provided the voice for several other characters in this anime and its adapted sequels, including (but not limited to) Son Goten , Son Gohan , and almost all of Goku's male family members.
Masako Nozawa has appeared in the Dragon Ball anime series as a voice actress since its debut in 1986. Before Dragon Ball After the series achieved mainstream success through the Toonami series on the American television network Cartoon Network in 2001, two attempts were made to bring the anime to American audiences. The first was a cooperation with Harmony Gold in 1989, and the second, slightly more successful, in 1995 was a joint production between Funimation, BLT Products, and Seagull Entertainment. However, these attempts were ultimately disappointing, and several changes were made to the anime before its broadcast on Toonami, its English dub, and its commercial distribution in the United States. The complete series aired for three years, ending in December 2003. In the years between the second and third broadcast attempts and several years after, several Dragon Ball sequels, specials, and films were produced, including Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest None Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might , and Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13! Early career
Masako Nozawa has played many roles throughout her career, beginning with her debut as a child actress in the 1939 film "Rockman Holic" at the age of just three. Her most notable roles have all been male characters, earning her the nickname " The Forever Boy." Her more recent roles, however, have primarily been older female characters.
She landed her first voice acting role at the age of 27 in 1963, providing the voices of the international telephone station robot and the children of the Queen of the Tailed Men in the popular Japanese television series, Astro Boy (also referred to in the original translation as; Mighty Atom ). She went on to play many other roles in notable and extremely popular television series outside the Dragon Ball franchise, such as the voice of "Doraemon" in 1973, the character "Tetsuro Hoshino" in "Galaxy Express 999" in 1979, and the character "Masamune" in Pokémon in 2005.
In April 2006, Masako Nozawa resigned from the voice talent management company 81 Produce to found the talent agency Office Nozawa, which closed a few years later in 2010. In March 2013, Nozawa received a distinguished award at the 7th Seiyu Awards for her many talented contributions to the film industry.
Since then, she has lent her voice to several other productions under the artistic direction of Aoni Production, playing herself in The Life of Seiyu!, "Sanpei" in the short film, Like the Wind , and most recently voiced Goku None Gohan None Goten and Vegeta in Dragon Ball Super from 2015 to 2018, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball Super: Boly in 2018, Dragon Ball Super Heroes in 2019, Jump Force the video game in 2019, and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot the video game in 2020.
Become famous
Masako Nozawa has received several awards for her talents and contributions to the film and creative industry, the first being in 1997, at the 2nd Animation Kobe, in the "Special Award" category.
In 2013, Nozawa received the Achievement Award at the 7th Seiyu Awards. In 2017, Nozawa won the Guinness World Records for Best Voice Actor and the 26th Japanese Movie Critics Awards for Longest Time Spent Voice Acting in a Video Game. Nozawa had been voicing a video game character, Goku, for over 23 years when she received this award.

Nozawa has also done live-action and animated voice-over work for popular films such as The Goonies, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Avengers Assemble, The Lion King 1 1/2, and Sleeping Beauty.
Marriage
Masako Nozawa was married to her late husband, Masaaki Tsukada, who was also a famous Japanese voice actor, until his death in 2014. It is unknown how long they were married.
Masaaki Tsukada has primarily voiced roles in animated television shows, although he has also had numerous roles in overseas dubbing, as well as theatrical animation and original video animation.
