One Piece offers us many topics to write about, but one of the most common types of articles involving One Piece characters is our usual comparison article, as the series truly offers a plethora of intriguing characters that we can easily compare. In this article, that's exactly what we're going to do, as you'll find out who is stronger and who would win in a fight between Dracule Mihawk, the world's greatest swordsman, and Gol D. Roger, the former King of the Pirates.

Gol D. Roger was stronger than Dracule Mihawk and would have defeated him in a fight, even with Mihawk at his peak. Roger was physically imposing and his mastery of Haki was astonishing; in both these categories, he clearly surpasses Mihawk. On top of that, Roger was also a very skilled swordsman, and while we think Mihawk is a bit better, considering how much effort he put into perfecting his skills, it wouldn't really be enough for him to surpass Roger. And that's why Gol D. Roger is undoubtedly the clear winner of this match.

What follows is, of course, a detailed analysis of the answer we gave you above. We will present Dracule Mihawk and Gol D. Roger in more detail, giving you an in-depth analysis of the issue at hand and the balance of power between the two characters using our usual formula. Roger, despite all of Mihawk's truly incredible skills with Yoru, would be able to defeat the greatest swordsman in the world.

Physical abilities

Mihawk's incredible superhuman physical strength and skill with a sword make him the most powerful swordsman in the entire world. Mihawk's extremely powerful and rapidly generated compressed air blasts or energy streams, which have enormous range, can easily destroy an ice mountain and battleships.

Zoro, a fierce and powerful swordsman, was also stopped by him using only the knife he held in one hand. Mihawk is very agile and possesses great jumping ability. He moves quickly enough to counteract the enhanced speed of Luffy's Gear Second. He also has excellent reflexes.

Before his death, Roger earned the nickname "Pirate King" due to his seemingly unbeatable fighting strength. Only Edward Newgate, who possessed the Gura Gura no Mi and was named "the strongest man in the world" after Roger's death, and Vice Admiral Garp, who cornered Roger several times before surrendering, were able to match Roger's strength in a fight.

Additionally, Roger and Monkey D. Garp had to work together to defeat Rocks D. Xebec, who was known to be his opponent. His ability to compete with Shiki is another example of his power. Despite being very ill, he had little trouble defeating Kozuki Oden.

Ultimately, we have nothing more to say about this category, at least when it comes to Dracule Mihawk, because we know that everything he has achieved has been done solely thanks to his natural skills and abilities, and it has nothing to do with any Devil Fruit.

This also applies to Gol D. Roger. It is a known fact that Roger has never consumed a Devil Fruit and that all of his powers are the result of his innate skills and mastery of Haki. This is why he and Mihawk fall into the same category in this regard.

We usually distribute points into such categories, but we won't go into that here. Indeed, since this isn't the first time we've encountered a situation where no character has anything to offer in a category, we already have a way of deciding points here, and that is, no one scores any points.

Dracule Mihawk has been confirmed to be capable of using at least two of the three known types of Haki. Mihawk's proficiency in Observation Haki is demonstrated by his ability to track Luffy while using Gear Second. He is capable of using Armament Haki, just as Zoro did when he fought Pica; in fact, Mihawk taught Zoro how to imbue his weapons with Armament Haki. With his proficiency in this area, he can imbue his blades with the Armament Haki necessary to transform them into the significantly more powerful Dark Blades. He may be capable of using Conqueror's Haki, but this has yet to be demonstrated.

Gol D. Roger was naturally capable of using all three types of Haki, befitting a king. While we don't know how skilled Roger was with Kenbunshoku Haki, we do know that he was capable of using it. Roger was able to harden his blade and strike Whitebeard's Murakumogiri with the help of Busoshoku Haki. He could even use the more complex variation of the technique due to his mastery of it.

Additionally, he was one of the few people to possess Conqueror's Haki. Twenty-six years ago, when he and Whitebeard clashed, lightning flashed and a wind blew that could only result from the collision of two people using this Haki. Roger also demonstrated the ability to imbue his sword with a particular Haki during the same confrontation, causing the blade to flash black.

Ultimately, it all comes down to numbers, and in that respect, Roger certainly triumphs. But even if it turns out that Mihawk can also use Conqueror's Haki, there's absolutely no doubt that his skill wouldn't surpass Roger's, and that's why Roger wins this point regardless of the circumstances.

Weapons

Mihawk uses the black sword Yoru as his primary weapon. Yoru is a human-sized, single-edged sword with a cross at the tip. When someone challenges him for his title and has the courage or strength to do so, he will do them the honor of fighting Yoru; otherwise, his Kogatana is sufficient.

Additionally, he wears a small cross-shaped pendant that hangs around his neck. Although he is depicted using it as an eating tool, when combined with his swordsmanship skills, it can be a devastating weapon that can defeat any ordinary or lower-level swordsman, including Zoro, who used three swords in combat.

As evidenced by his one-attack triumph over the renowned warrior Kozuki Oden, Roger was a brilliant swordsman. Furthermore, he was able to match the power of Whitebeard's Murakumogiri, which created a powerful shockwave that shook Moby Dick and the entire island. He was, as far as anyone knows, one of the most accomplished swordsmen in the series and has proven capable of competing with the most formidable and accomplished weapon users of his time.

And while we can't deny that Roger was exceptionally skilled with a sword, Mihawk honed his skills to such a level that he likely surpassed every character to ever wield a sword in the series. It would certainly be an exciting duel, but we believe Mihawk's skills are superior to Roger's in this category, hence the final result.

Roger would beat Mihawk, there's no doubt about it, but it would certainly be an interesting duel.

Gol D. Roger was the King of the Pirates, and in his case, the title was fully deserved in every way. Not only did he accomplish a lot, but he was also an incredibly powerful fighter, which is why we can only agree with what the points say: that Roger would defeat Mihawk in combat.

The difference doesn't seem that great based on the numbers we've presented you, but we don't think there would be much suspense in this fight, as Mihawk wouldn't be able to do much at the moment. Roger became serious.

Of course, there's no denying that Mihawk is probably a more skilled swordsman than Roger (though we wouldn't risk our lives for it), but Roger's other skills are so diverse that there's really no doubt about his victory here, despite the fact that Mihawk would likely offer Yoru plenty of resistance.
