Military Police Brigade - Attack on Titan

The Military Police Brigade is an elite group of soldiers composed of only the most talented and skilled soldiers in humanity. Only ten of the best soldiers from the Training Corps are eligible to enlist in the Military Police Brigade. The Brigade's crest features a distinctive design consisting of a green unicorn with a white mane.

They seek to maintain peace, security, and order within the walls. High-ranking military police work closely with ruling families and aristocrats, meaning that members of the brigade often find themselves caught up in the political tide as well.

As an elite group within the military, a power that holds high authority in the world of Attack on Titan , many members of the Brigade are victims of corruption, resulting in the abuse and manipulation of resources and power. Many, but not all, participate in this corruption.

Qualities

This group of elite soldiers is tasked with protecting the inhabitants of the inner walls. Most of the people who live there are often noble families, including the king. Each member is carefully selected and is collectively considered "the most powerful organization in humanity." They often work in the shadows due to their enormous political influence over the entire society. They have been compared to a "shadow government."

The Military Police Brigade is also involved in criminal investigations. It is responsible for arresting and capturing criminals who threaten order and politics, particularly when it comes to the nobility and aristocracy.

Joining the Military Police Brigade guarantees better chances of survival, security, and status compared to other branches, especially the Survey Corps . It is the dream of many to join this branch for these reasons. One character who had such a dream was Jean Kirstein , although Jean ended up enlisting in the Survey Corps (despite being qualified to join the Military Police Brigade). However, trainees who dedicate themselves to applying to the Brigade must work extremely hard in the Training Corps and demonstrate their skills and abilities during their assessments. As mentioned earlier, only the best of the best are allowed to enlist in the Military Police Brigade.

Reputation

Corruption and greed within the Military Police Brigade are both hinted at in Season 1 , Episode 23, when Marlowe Freudenber, a member of the Military Police Brigade, catches his superiors illegally selling government-issued equipment and realizes that the equipment funded by citizens' hard-earned money is being sold for the personal gain of some members of the Brigade. However, the Military Police soldiers involved in the scandal physically beat Marlowe and blackmailed him for committing a "treasonous offense against a superior."

We also see people like Annie Leonhart , the Female Titan , and Kenny Ackerman, an ex-convict and murderer, as members of the military police, which raises questions about the type of people involved.

Many people disagree on which branch of the military produces the strongest soldiers. On one hand, the Survey Corps produces highly skilled and trained soldiers who can gain experience on expeditions beyond the walls. These expeditions often lead them to fight more Titans, making them even more capable. On the other hand, the Military Police Brigade only accepts ten of the best trainees from each Training Corps, resulting in a pool of individuals who display fantastic talent and ability but lack combat experience. This makes it difficult to know which branch is truly the most combat-ready.

Organization

The Military Police Brigade has approximately 2,000 soldiers who work directly within the branch. However, a group of approximately 3,000 members of the Garrison work directly under the Brigade, bringing their total number to approximately 5,000.

Approximately 200 Military Police soldiers are deployed to their own divisions. They oversee operations that span the entire army: the Training Corps, the garrison, the fire service, and more.

Although they are not on the battlefield or on the front lines against the Titans, the Military Police Brigade is often seen as a safe and closed society that can maintain its numbers.

Anti-personnel control squad

This squad of the Military Police Brigade is composed of 48 elite soldiers and was officially created as a means to counter the Survey Corps , though it was actually created as a means to regain the power that Eren Jaeger currently possesses. The members of this squad are equipped with anti-personnel maneuvering gear and rifles instead of blades.
