Monokuma Danganronpa - Nendoroid

On July 4, 2013, the Danganronpa anime was released. It is a detective and action genre in which the students are locked in a building and are forced to kill each other to escape. The students are stuck in despair due to the actions of the villain known as Monokuma. Monokuma does not reveal his true identity and appears as a half-black, half-white bear. He is a very classic mad and evil character who enjoys seeing despair in the expression of his victim. He loves to kill and often describes horrible acts and takes pleasure in it. He is everyone's favorite mad villain and enjoys great popularity. Monokuma's design is a cute bear that gains a lot of love and fans and many products have been released based on his design. One of the most popular products would be the "Nendoroid Monokuma," which is a Nendoroid figure that showcases Monokuma's adorable figure to the fullest.

Monokuma Nendoroid

The Monokuma Nendoroid shows him in his cute and creepy glory. He is perfectly split down the middle, with his right side painted white and his left side painted black. His mouth and stomach have not been split in color and are both white with his nose black. Monokuma's stomach has a small bump to show his belly button which has a small "X" on it to signify that it is his belly button. On the white side, his eye is a normal small black circle while on the black side, his eye is red and shaped like part of the Kiboumine Academy logo. Monokuma comes with two different facial expressions. One is his usual grin where the white side resembles a normal bear mouth while the black side has been raised into an evil grin. The second expression shows Monokuma laughing loudly. His mouth is open and while the white side looks harmless, his black side looks positively evil. His wide grin is now open and shows his sharp teeth. There are also optional features that Monokuma can use to recreate scenes from the Danganronpa series. There is the brown mallet (judge's mallet) that he can hold in his hand as well as a red punishment button to recreate the famous punishment scenes. There are alternative arm parts that allow the Monokuma Nendoroid to pose in different ways to recreate fan-favorite scenes from the Danganronpa series.

About Monokuma

Monokuma is a bear-shaped robot that gives orders and forces people to play a game of despair. He is black and white in color and is perfectly divided in two, giving off a yin-yang vibe. His personality also reflects the duality of his colors. He can sometimes act very polite and shy, showing a very cute side. Then, suddenly, he can act very mean and sinister, detailing very gruesome punishments to scare others into despair.

About Monokuma: Background

Monokuma appears whenever there is despair and forces the people in the situation to engage in a killing game. Although Monokuma states that he takes despair very seriously and wishes to plunge the entire world into despair, he acts very childishly. Monokuma jokes a lot and doesn't seem to take things seriously. His half-black and half-white facial design shows the bipolar characteristic he holds. He can be polite one moment and the next, very mad and laugh at a character's death.

About Monokuma: Abilities

Monokuma is able to use a brainwashing video about despair to brainwash anyone into going to the despair side. The despair members would do anything he said if it brought more despair, he even forced one of the members to commit suicide to start another death game to make the hope side members fall into despair and betray each other.

Other important characters in Danganronpa

As the main villain of the series, Monokuma interacts with many characters. He mainly speaks with Makoto Naegi because he possesses the Ultimate Luck skill that can destroy his plans. Monokuma also calls upon Chiaki Nanami, the class president of one of the elite classes.

Makoto Naegi

Makoto Naegi is a very optimistic character. He doesn't have much self-confidence and doesn't think he belongs to the elite, but he does his best. He's the character who carries the greatest glimmer of hope in his heart and tries to overcome the despair spread by Monokuma. Even though Monokuma and Makoto are on opposing sides and are supposed to be enemies, they treat each other without hostility.

Chiaki Nanami

Chiaki Nanami is known as the ultimate gamer and is very good at playing games. Thanks to her title, she is placed in an elite class at Kiboumine Academy. Despite her shy nature, she becomes the class president and an important member of the class. Monokuma takes advantage of her well-liked status and uses her to make a brainwashing video to turn all the students at Kiboumine Academy into students who act out of despair.
