Monster Hunter Nendoroid - Figures

In 2006, the Japanese company Good Smile Company created a special line of figures called "Nendoroids." They are characterized by a characteristic disproportion between the head and body ratio. The character has a head that is too large compared to his small body. It was thought to be a new type of cute collectible, and since then, Nendoroids of hundreds of different characters from a wide range of story titles have been produced. The figures have many points of articulation, and many parts of the figure are poseable and can be interchanged with optional parts, giving them a range of different poses and expressions. They are said to resemble clay models, hence the name "Nendoroid" (the Japanese word for clay is "nendo").

In a way, the fact that a character is transformed into a Nendoroid shows a sign of success. After the success of Monster Hunter in 2018, Good Smile Company announced its intention to release a series of Monster Hunter Nendoroids. Since their release, demand for these Nendoroids has increased, and they have been released in waves regularly over the past two years. Many Nendoroids have a standard version, then a special DX version that comes later, but which has many more interchangeable parts and components. As noted on fan sites, for the true collector who had already purchased the original version and loved it, it is difficult to resist purchasing the special DX version.

Nendoroid Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Hunter: Alpha Nargacuga Armor Female Ver. DX

This Nendoroid is from the hit expansion Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. “She hunts under the cover of twilight, moving like the wind.” This is a figure of a female hunter wearing the Alpha Nargacuga armor. This figure is fully articulated and has two face plates. One is her normal face and the other is her battle-crazed face. These can be interchanged depending on the pose the collector wants to give the figure. For additional customization, she comes with two axe blades, a hidden saber sword, two carving knives, and throwing knife effect parts. There is also a removable battle helmet.

This is the second version or DX Special Edition, which features an expanded range of display options and accessories in addition to all the parts and features of the original. Additionally, it comes with a hidden tomahawk and dual blades, a critical hit effect part, an original eye-flicker effect part designed for the Nendoroid, an interchangeable head part for display with a ponytail hairstyle, and a Demondrug item. The numerous accessories and points of articulation offer a wide range of customization.

Nendoroid Monster Hunter: World Hunter: Female Xeno'jiiva Beta Armor Edition DX Ver.

This is a female Monster Hunter directly from the PlayStation game Monster Hunter: World. “She is the one who hunted the dragon of blacklight and conquered the moonlight.” The Xeno'jiiva Beta Armor she wears is made all the more impressive by the partial hand-painting done on this piece. The figure comes with two face plates. One of the facial expressions is her normal face while the other is a wounded battle expression. The Insect Glaive Xeno Shmaena, a Grancathar III, and her Hunter's Carving Knife are among the accessories included in the package. She also comes with a display stand that must be used as the figure is rather heavy.

This is the special DX version of the previous version. It has all the original features of the first version, but now comes with additional bonus parts that greatly expand the range of possible expressions and poses. It has a replacement head included in the box that is used for those who want to customize its look and give it a shorter hairstyle.

The DX version also includes an explosion effect part and an explosive cannon, a shooting effect part, and the Xeno Neqiina Light Bowgun. Interchangeable accessory combinations combined with articulation poses make the range of customization much wider than the previously released standard version.

Nendoroid Monster Hunter: World Hunter: Female Rathalos Armor DX Edition Ver.

This hunter wears the Rathalos armor from Monster Hunter: World Hunter. Good Smile Company has provided her with a multitude of accessories and optional parts to customize the figure with poses in and out of combat. "She is the one who hunted the King of the Sky and conquered the world."

This is the enhanced DX version that contains all the original parts and elements of the standard version as well as a considerable amount of bonus equipment and accessories. The Red Wing greatsword and her hunting knife are the two basic weapons she is equipped with. She wears red combat armor and a removable combat helmet. When not wearing her combat helmet, she also has an alternate headpiece for fans who wish she had a ponytail.

Additionally, this special DX version comes with bonus parts that include slingshot parts, scout flies, BBQ food with a table and chair, and monster footprints. This is certainly one of the most versatile Nendoroid figures given the range of unique interchangeable accessories included. Fan sites claim that this collector's box contains more than enough to spark the imagination. One thing to note, however, is that it is unable to stand without the included stand.
