Nakiri Ayame is a 2nd generation member of Hololive and, after her original debut in September 2018, has made a name for herself in the Hololive and wider VTuber community with her cheerful personality and infectious laugh.

Like all other members managed by Hololive, Nakiri Ayame is a VTuber who primarily streams on YouTube. While these streams may consist of karaoke, collaborations with other VTubers, etc., many of Ayame's streams feature her playing online multiplayer games like APEX Legends , Mario Kart 8 Deluxe , and Minecraft .

Story of Nakiri Ayame

Nakiri Ayame made her first appearance as a VTuber on September 3, 2018. This debut was broadcast on YouTube, which remains Ayame's primary platform to this day. On May 17, 2019, she revealed her 3D model via a special stream on her channel. In November of that same year, Ayame also reached 100,000 subscribers on her channel and received her first alternate outfit. Just like the other members who joined Hololive early on, Ayame also received an updated Live2D model, which was unveiled on July 31, 2020. By the end of 2020, Ayame's channel saw a significant surge in popularity, growing from 100,000 subscribers in 2019 to over 600,000 by the end of 2020.

Physical description of Nakiri Ayame

Nakiri Ayame is a young Oni (a type of Japanese demon) girl with bright red eyes, a pair of long horns growing from her head, and long white hair that fades to a light shade of red towards the bottom. Her main attire consists of a red Oni mask worn on top of her head and an intricate traditional Japanese dress. This dress is colored red, black, and gold and shares some aspects of a kimono, merging them with more Western features like ruffled sleeves. Ayame also carries two swords on her back, which are called Ashura and Rasetsu.

Her first alternate outfit consists of a casual white and black Western-style dress with detached sleeves that expose her shoulders. The dress's collar is surrounded by a blue ribbon, while the rest of the dress is decorated with pink buttons and patterns that complement Ayame's pink highlights and layered hair. The red Oni mask Ayame usually wears is also replaced by a frilly headband with black bows on it.

Nakiri Ayame's Personality

Although Oni are known for being incredibly vicious and violent towards other people in Japanese culture, Ayame is almost the complete opposite of the Oni stereotype. She is often described as incredibly kind, calm, and level-headed. She can be quite introverted when it comes to talking to others, but other Hololive members have mentioned how easy she is to get along with. During her streams, she can be quite silly, a trait many viewers have come to adore. She can also be quite competitive when playing games like APEX Legends and often becomes silent as she focuses on defeating her enemies.

Associated company

Nakiri Ayame is a member of Hololive Productions, a VTuber agency owned by Cover Corporation that manages over 50 individual VTubers, including globally popular VTubers like Gawr Gura (Gauru Gura), None, Inugami Crown , and Pekora Use , among others. In addition to each member's streaming activities, Hololive Productions plans various events and collaborations involving many of the VTubers they manage. One example of this is "Hololive 2nd fes: Beyond the Stage*," a 2-day live concert that took place on December 21 and 22, 2020, and which was attended by almost all members of Hololive's Japanese branch at the time.

Although many of Ayame's streams feature her playing APEX Legends , some of her most popular streams are her 3D Rhythm Paradise Fever streams and the various streams she hosts as a member of FAMS (and, by extension, OKFAMS).

3D Rhythm Paradise Fever Flux

While this stream is a one-off installment of Rhythm Heaven Fever , it features Ayame using her 3D model, something that is often reserved for special streams and specific occasions like birthdays and holidays. Perhaps due to the use of her 3D model, this is currently one of Ayame's most popular streams on her channel. The stream itself simply shows her playing the game from start to finish, which took her around five hours to complete. Shirakami Fubuki was also present as a guest and offered commentary to Ayame and her viewers.

Collaborations with FAMS/OKFAMS

FAMS is a group of Hololive members consisting of Shirakami Fubuki , Nakiri Ayame, Ookami Mio , and Subaru Oozora . Occasionally, Nekomata Okayu and Inugami Korone also join FAMS, creating the subgroup OKFAMS. Most of the time, FAMS streams consist of playing multiplayer games like Phasmophobia , Left 4 Dead 2 , and The Ultimate Chicken Horse , though FAMS also has several streams where they simply chat with the audience. FAMS has also partnered with other groups within Hololive like OKBR (Okayu, Korone, Shishiro Botan , and Yukihana Lamy) in friendly and competitive matches in games like Splatoon .
