History of the Natsuiro Matsuri Festival

Matsuri debuted on YouTube on June 1, 2018, as a young high school student who is a member of her school's cheerleading squad and enjoys festivals. Over time, she continued to regularly stream gaming and other content on her channel. Approximately five months after her original debut, she would receive her first additional outfit for her Live2D model. A 3D model of her character also debuted on April 14, 2019. She then received a New Year's-themed outfit in early 2020 and a second alternate outfit in October 2020. Like many members of Hololive 1st Generation, Matsuri also received an updated "2.0" version of her avatar in July 2020, which improved her animation and range of motion.

Physical description of Natsuiro Matsuri

Although she is always depicted as a young girl with teal eyes and medium-length brown hair, some features of her style change depending on the outfit she is wearing. Her main outfit includes an orange and white pleated skirt and a black shirt covered by a short-sleeved orange jacket that leaves her shoulders and midriff exposed. She also wears a pair of black stockings and white boots tied with green laces. Matsuri's hair also has a prominent ahoge (cowlick) and is worn in a side ponytail tied with a green and black bow with a cat charm attached.

Her New Year's outfit is inspired by a traditional Japanese shrine priestess outfit and is somewhat reminiscent of Sakura Miko's. While the uniform is primarily red, it is still accentuated by her signature orange color along the edges of her sleeves and in the striped ribbon around her skirt. Like her main outfit, this New Year's outfit also reveals her midriff. Other alternate outfits also include pajamas and a more modest Western-style dress.

Personality of Natsuiro Matsuri

Overall, Natsuiro Matsuri is an incredibly energetic and outgoing girl who befriends many people both inside and outside of Hololive. Her excitable and mischievous nature often leads to chaotic, yet entertaining, shenanigans and situations between viewers and other VTubers. That said, despite her boisterous tendencies, Matsuri also shows a much more sensitive and caring side, especially in her audio-only streams on Twitcast.

Many Hololive members also respect Matsuri and find her quite reliable. Since she has shown great skills in games like APEX Legends , members like Kiryu Coco and Uruha Rushia have asked Matsuri to teach them how to play the game, as they were beginners at the time. Matsuri is also close friends with Shirakami Fubuki and Himemori Moon , which has led to many different collaborative streams during which they have played games together.

Natsuiro Matsuri is one of the growing VTubers owned by Cover Corporation, the company behind Hololive Productions.
