  • Distribution of articles:
  • After the liberation of Wano Country, that is, after the fall of Kaidou and Big Mom, Momonosuke regained power over Wano as the new shogun and took on the legitimate air of Oden, his father.
  • He decided to stay in Wano and keep the borders closed for the time being, although he and Luffy remained allies, as Luffy promised that he would return to Wano if Momonosuke needed him.
  • Luffy offered Momonosuke, Kin'emon, and Yamato a spot on his crew. While Yamato may join them later, it is unlikely that Momonosuke and Kin'emon will become Straw Hats in the future.

Momonosuke and Kinemon stayed in Wano

As everyone knows, Wano suffered greatly under the rule of the two emperors and their servant, Orochi. The tyrannical dictatorship of Kaido and his ally, Big Mom, was eventually overthrown by the Alliance, and the land of Wano was liberated. To celebrate the victory of the liberators, that is, the Alliance, a grand celebration was held in the Flower Capital. Even though Aramaki's brief strike seemed likely to spoil the festivities, he couldn't get close to the Flower Capital. And even though the festivities lasted for a while, they had to end. Luffy and his crew had to continue their journey.

Before leaving, of course, they said goodbye to all their friends and allies. We know that Yamato wanted to join the crew, but he decided to stay a little while to explore Wano before leaving with Luffy. But as the Straw Hat captain left, he also spoke to Momonosuke and Kin'emon. He promised both of them, his friends, that if they needed his help again, he would immediately come to their aid and that if they wanted, they would both have a place on his crew. So... will Kin'emon and Momonosuke join Luffy's crew? Let's see what happened before, during, and after this reunion.

The three Wano residents—Yamato, Kin'emon, and Momonosuke—reach Tokage Harbor, where the pirates are ready to board. Momonosuke and Yamato jump on Luffy while Kin'emon asks him why he decided to leave without saying goodbye, pointing out that the shogun is angry and demands an explanation from the pirate. Momonosuke, however, bursts into tears and begs him not to leave and to stay with him, stating that he is alive because of them, who made him laugh again and allowed him to avenge his parents, admitting that he is not good with words and has a fear of the future.

Luffy then asks Usopp to give him a large flag with the crew's Jolly Roger and gives it to him, explaining that they waited to give it to him to stop the Shogun thing and that even though he seems big now, he knows very well that he is an idiot and a crybaby, who nevertheless looks like a little brother.

Momonosuke asks about the flag, so the pirate tells him to think about the adventures he has had at sea when he finds himself in trouble and to display the flag, advising him to show it if anyone were to threaten the country of Wano because they If someone raises their hand to one of his friends, it means facing the Straw Hat Pirates.

He then adds that if Momonosuke, Kin'emon, and Yamato want to become pirates, there will be a place for them on board, specifying, however, that whiners will not be allowed on board. The shogun bows and, watching the Thousand Sunny depart, tells Kin'emon that one day he will surpass Oden, to which the servant declares that he would like to witness that moment.

Yamato then asks if he's referring to her, but the shogun denies it. The three then return to the castle, and Momonosuke asks where best to raise the flag. Later, Momonosuke and other Wano residents are shocked by a massive earthquake that is felt worldwide as the heroes battle on Egghead Island, where Vegapunk was located.

So, as you can see, Momonosuke and Kin'emon didn't join Luffy's crew, but they have an open invitation, and if they change their minds, they'll have a spot on the Thousand Sunny. Of course, Luffy values his friends, and knowing how strong and skilled they are, he deduces that they would be excellent additions to his crew; the same goes for Yamato, but he'll be the subject of a separate article. That's why he offered them a spot.

But we don't think it's likely that Kin'emon or Momonosuke will join Luffy, at least not permanently. Both have a lot on their plate in Wano, while going with Luffy means being at sea most of the time, so we don't really think that Momonosuke and Kin'emon will abandon their people for such an adventure, so they're unlikely to join, though it's not impossible to imagine it.
