If you've watched the latest episodes of One Piece, you've probably noticed a flaming blob burning everything around it. The blob is, of course, Kazenbo, and we've already told you everything you need to know about him in a previous article, but since Kazenbo has returned to the spotlight again, we decided to talk about him again. In this article, however, we'll focus on the reasons behind Kazenbo's destructive rampage, as we'll explain why Kurozumi Orochi ordered Kazenbo to destroy Onigashima in One Piece.

As is well known, Kazenbo's main and sole purpose, the sole reason it was created, was to burn down Onigashima completely. This act of creation and destruction symbolized the Kurozumi family's "burning hatred" against everyone who wronged them in Wano Country, which is also why Orochi asked Kanjuro to create Kazenbo in the first place.

The rest of this article will focus on Kazenbo's rampage on Onigashima, as it happened in One Piece. We'll explain the reasons for Kazenbo's creation, as well as the reasons for his rampage on Onigashima. Orochi is linked to the creation of Kazenbo

Orochi, born 54 years ago, spent his early years in agony due to his grandfather's sins, which caused his family to lose all authority and influence. Orochi lived in perpetual fear due to the locals' persecution of him and his family. He was approached by Kurozumi Higurashi and Kurozumi Semimaru about 41 years ago. She told him of her grandfather's failed attempt to become shogun by poisoning other daimyos, who were eventually apprehended and forced to commit seppuku.

Orochi accepted the old woman's advice to acquire the title after being enchanted by the idea of ​​becoming shogun. She advised him to amass a large sum of gold and create weapons to attract powerful allies. The three men executed the murderers of Kurozumi Kanjuro's family in the same manner, and Orochi persuaded him to submit and begin assuming the guise of a vassal of Kozuki Oden. He subsequently became shogun and an ally of Kaido.

Orochi was partly responsible for the terror on Onigashima, and he was a loyal ally of Kaidou, though he always had his own agenda and certain underlying plans he wanted to see come to fruition. This would eventually cost him his favorable position with Kaidou, but he nevertheless remained a villain in the series until his death, and this fact is closely linked to the creation of Kazenbo.

Moments before his death, Kurozumi Kanjuro created Kazenbo, the fiery, ghost-like entity, using the power of his Fude Fude no Mi to destroy Onigashima. Interestingly, Kanjuro himself would never have done this, but his relative, Kurozumi Orochi, asked him to do so for his own purposes. He was designed to represent the Kurozumi family's "burning hatred" towards those who tried to harm them.

Kazenbo was thus designed as a massive ethereal entity with the power to change size so that he could occupy almost all of Onigashima's immense floors. He has two glowing eyes at the top and is initially transparent at the bottom before becoming considerably darker and impenetrable. The surface is also engulfed in large flames.

The Kurozumi family's hatred, particularly of the entity's creator, Kanjuro, manifests itself in the form of Kazenbo. Although initially all he did was go to Kanjuro's intended location, Kazenbo appears to have his own consciousness and personality, as shown in his responses to Yamato's attacks. By addressing Orochi as "Orochi-sama," he demonstrated his respect for the man. Kazenbo is engulfed in flames and can burn anything he encounters. Due to its sheer size and difficulty in avoiding it, it can quickly destroy a huge area as it is very difficult to avoid. But we've talked about that before, so we won't repeat it here.

The Kurozumi family wanted revenge

Now, we've said that Kanjuro created Kazenbo at Orochi's request. Both were members of the Kurozumi family, and although Kanjuro had no further plans upon dying, Orochi used him for his own purposes. Namely, from Orochi's perspective, the Kurozumi family had been wronged by the people of Wano, which is why he wanted revenge. The Kurozumi family hated Onigashima, and Kazenbo was meant to be the family's ultimate revenge against the people of Onigashima, as Kazenbo was created to destroy it and everything in it, as well as everyone in it. This is why Yamato had to prevent Kazenbo from reaching the explosives. But what happened to the Kurozumi family?

The Kurozumi family was one of the six most influential families in Wano and ruled one of its regions. Since the previous shogun had no heirs, and a feud began between the five daimyos, Orochi's grandfather decided to poison his opponents to seize power. However, his plans were discovered after Kozuki Sukiyaki's birth. The killer was forced to commit suicide, while the rest of the family was deprived of their possessions and plunged into poverty. A group of executioners persecuted its members, beating and killing them, and even throwing them into the river.

Several years later, Higurashi revealed the truth to Orochi and presented him with the Hebi Hebi no Mi, model: Yamata no Orochi. He also explained the details of the plan that would have led him to become shogun by exploiting the nation's resources to gain powerful allies. Orochi then asked Kanjuro to become one of Oden's disciples, informing him of his every move. Thirty-nine years before the beginning of the story, he was hired by Yasuie, who robbed him and then asked Oden for numerous loans.

Twenty-six years before the beginning of the story, he used Higurashi's powers to trick Sukiyaki into believing he had Oden's approval and the daimyo into believing Orochi would be the shogun's regent during the heir's absence. Sukiyaki was then imprisoned in the palace room containing the Claw Grip, and Orochi became shogun. Twenty-six years before the beginning of the story, Orochi allied himself with Kaido, through Higurashi's intervention, becoming a dictator. Three years later, Oden returned to Wano and joined Orochi to seek revenge for what he had done in his absence, but to no avail.

Eighteen years before the beginning of the story, Oden and his minions attempted to break the nation's isolationism, but thanks to information from Kanjuro, Orochi learned of the plan and informed Kaido, who intercepted the group in Udon and defeated them. Following the capture, the emperor killed Oden in the Flower Capital, and his castle was burned down. Orochi then outlawed all martial arts dojos and confiscated weapons from citizens, except for samurai, to prevent possible riots. Tama was an orphan trying to earn money to eat. When she met Hitetsu, she trained to become a kunoichi.

Two years before the beginning of the story, Orochi and Kaido began trading weapons made in Wano Country with the Smiley. The shogun, tired of the lamentations of the people of Ebisu who mourned their dead, hid the defective Smileys, from which only a single bite had been detached, among the trash of the Flower Capital, so that these people could feed on them, to ensure that they continued to laugh and could no longer complain about their condition. That same year, Tama met the Spade Pirates. Orochi then began doing business with CP0. And this is why the Kurozumi family hated Onigashima, and if they couldn't rule it, they would prefer to see it destroyed.
