One Piece: What Is Sanji's New Technique, Ifrit Jambe?

Vinsmoke Sanji is best known as the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates in Oda's One Piece manga. He is the fifth member of the crew and the fourth to join, at the end of the Baratie Arc. Today, Sanji has become a crucial part of Luffy's crew and, over the decades, has demonstrated incredible powers and abilities. His kicks are known throughout the pirate world of Oda's One Piece, and he has developed many powerful techniques with his kicks. One of these was developed in the latest episode of the One Piece anime series, and we will discuss it here, as you will discover what Sanji's new technique, Ifrit Jambe, is.

The Ifrit Leg technique was described by Sanji as: "An exoskeleton, muscles, and speed... all of which increase strength. Add the Busoshoku Haki I developed to the exoskeleton, and my legs are more resilient, capable of withstanding even hotter flames!!!" It is a new technique that combines Sanji's genetic modifications with his Busoshoku Haki, creating an even more powerful technique.

In the rest of this article, we'll talk about Sanji and his new technique. You'll learn about Ifrit Leg and how Sanji can use it in combat. The article will explain how and why Sanji can use Ifrit Leg and how he can use fire in the series, but it will also contain some spoilers, so we had to warn you beforehand.

The Ifrit Jambe technique allowed Sanji to defeat Queen

Ifrit Jambe is an enhanced Diable Jambe technique that Sanji can perform after activating his genetic modifications. After Sanji used his Raid Suit on Onigashima, the genetic modifications Vinsmoke Judge gave to the Vinsmoke quadruplets activated, and Sanji discovered that thanks to the exoskeleton and enhanced physical abilities, his body could withstand greater heat.

By combining these new powers with his already powerful Busoshoku Haki, Sanji was able to perform flaming kicks that were faster, harder, stronger, and hotter. Unlike Diable Jambe, when Sanji activates Ifrit Jambe, the fire in his leg turns light blue, brighter, and appears to emit rays simultaneously. This technique allowed Sanji to effectively fight Queen and defeat the giant, sending him flying to Onigashima.

Ifrit Jambe has several individual techniques

Although he only recently created it, the manga (as did the anime) has shown us that Sanji can use many different techniques as part of his Ifrit Leg technique. Here is a list of the techniques used by Sanji:

Coal

Based on the same technique that is part of Sanji's basic Black Leg style and enhanced by Ifrit Jambe, Sanji jumps over the opponent and delivers a strong and powerful kick to the neck. This technique, along with all the others on this list, was first seen and used in a series during Sanji's battle with Queen Onigashima, which is also the first time he uses Ifrit Jambe in general. In English, it means neck meat. This attack is usually followed by Lower Rib, Chuck, Twin Steak, Tenderloin, Flank, Tail, Pear, Shank, and Beef Burst.

Lower Coast

This technique is also based on the same technique that is part of Sanji's basic Black Leg style and enhanced by Ifrit Leg. While Sanji remains in the air after the previous attack, he delivers another powerful kick to the enemy's left shoulder, which is then immediately combined with Paleron. In French, this means shoulder meat. This technique is usually preceded by Collier and followed by Paleron, Twin Steak, Tendron, Flank, Tail, Pear, Shank, and Beef Burst.

Chuck

Immediately after striking the opponent in the left shoulder with Lower Rib, Sanji, while still in the air, also delivers a powerful blow to the right shoulder, which is the Paleron technique. In English, it means Chuck. This attack is usually preceded by Collar and Lower Rib and followed by Twin Steak, Tenderloin, Flank, Tail, Pear, Shank, and Beef Burst.

Steak Twin

On the ground, Sanji delivers a powerful kick to the torso, the first in a series of three powerful kicks. In English, this means chest. This attack is usually preceded by Collar, Lower Rib, and Chuck, followed by Tenderloin, Flank, Tail, Pear, Shank, and Beef Burst.

Advice

Enhanced by Ifrit Leg, Tendron is also a move based on the same technique that is part of Sanji's basic Black Leg style. When using it, Sanji delivers a kick while on the ground, the second in a series of three powerful attacks targeting the opponent's torso. In English, this means the upper breast meat. This attack is usually preceded by Collar, Lower Rib, Chuck, and Twin Steak and followed by Flank, Tail, Pear, Shank, and Beef Burst.

Flank

Based on the Black Leg Style technique and enhanced by the Ifrit Leg, Flank is a technique that involves Sanji kicking while on the ground; it is the final torso-focused kick in the series. In English, it means flank. This attack is usually preceded by Collar, Lower Rib, Chuck, Twin Steak, and Tenderloin and followed by Tail, Pear, Shank, and Beef Burst.

Queue

Another technique based on the same technique that is part of Sanji's basic Black Leg style and further enhanced by Ifrit Leg, when using Tail, Sanji delivers a kick from a reverse stance, spinning on the ground; this is the first in a series of three powerful attacks delivered to the opponent's lower body. In English, it means tail. This attack is usually preceded by Collar, Lower Rib, Chuck, Twin Steak, Tenderloin, and Flank and followed by Pear, Shank, and Beef Burst.

Pear

Pear is almost identical to Tail, except that it is the second attack in a series of three. In French, it means pear. This attack is usually preceded by Collar, Lower Rib, Chuck, Twin Steak, Tenderloin, Flank, and Tail, and followed by Shank and Beef Burst.

Hock

Using this technique, based on the Black Leg style and enhanced by Ifrit Jambe, Sanji delivers another kick to the head, the last in the series focusing on the opponent's lower body. In English, this means the meat of the back of the knee. This attack is usually preceded by Collar, Lower Rib, Chuck, Twin Steak, Tenderloin, Flank, Tail, and Pear, and followed by Beef Burst.

The final attack makes full use of Sanji's Ifrit Leg and is a powerful combo that Sanji uses as a finishing move. The attack is a shocking, fiery kick aimed at the center of the opponent's body; after Sanji kicks them, the enemy spirals upward, followed by a powerful explosion.

In French, it means beef. This attack is usually preceded by Collar, Lower Rib, Chuck, Twin Steak, Tenderloin, Flank, Tail, Pear, and Shank. Their name and combination may refer to this technique as an improved form of Veal Shot since veal is meat from a calf, while beef is meat from an adult cow.
