One Piece: Who is Monkey D. Flora?
One Piece: Who is Monkey D. Flora? Is she Luffy's daughter?

Monkey D. Luffy, the protagonist of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga, is known for his many epic adventures. He is one of the most famous anime characters in history, and his adventures are known and followed worldwide. But only true One Piece fans know about Luffy's family and his family history, which is why we decided to write this article to introduce you to one aspect of Luffy's character. In this article, we will tell you about Luffy's family, focusing specifically on whether or not he has a daughter in One Piece, that is, we will tell you who the mysterious Monkey D. Flora is.
Monkey D. Flora is not Luffy's daughter in One Piece. In fact, Luffy doesn't have a daughter in the series. In fact, he doesn't have any children at all. His only known relatives are his father and grandfather. A character named Flora appeared in the 2014 One Piece Premier Show, but she is not related to Luffy. Monkey D. Flora is a fan-created character who is the hypothetical daughter of Luffy and Boa Hancock in the series, but she is in no way canon.
The rest of this article will explore Luffy's family history and, in particular, whether he has a daughter in the world of One Piece. And while we've already discussed his "brothers" and even his hypothetical sister, we'll now focus on Luffy's supposed daughter and her existence in the series. If you're not fully up to date on the events of One Piece, this article may contain significant spoilers, but we must clarify that no new information will be presented here, as we'll be focusing on old and well-known facts about the three of them.
No, Luffy Doesn't Have a Daughter in One Piece – Monkey D. Flora is a Fan-Created Character
The story of Luffy's family, the Monkey family (yes, Monkey is their last name), is intriguing. We currently know three members of his family; each is quite powerful and presents completely different aspects of the story. Luffy's biological father is Monkey D. Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, who was never present in Luffy's life and left his son in the care of his own father, Luffy's grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, who works for the Marines despite following his exploits throughout the series.
The identity of Luffy's biological mother is still unknown; his adoptive mother was Curly Dadan. According to Oda himself, Luffy's mother will likely never be introduced. As for Luffy, we know that he is a pirate. He had two "brothers," Luffy and the late Ace, and that's about it when it comes to his family.
We've already discussed theories related to him having a sister, as we said, and we've concluded that he doesn't have a sister and that all the "sisters" you find online are actually fan creations and not part of the franchise in any way. But what about a daughter? Could Luffy have a daughter in One Piece?
A name often mentioned here is Monkey D. Flora, and based on her fan story found on One Piece Wikia, here's what is known about her:
Luffy and Hancock's child, Monkey D. Flora, is now eight years old but is still training to become a Kuja warrior. In this episode, Luffy visits Amazon Lily and Flora meets him for the first time.
Luffy then leaves in his boat and uses Haoshoku Haki to scare off any sea king that approaches him.
Then a year later, Luffy suddenly disappears from the world and Flora never sees her father again.
Nine years have passed since Flora met her father. She is now seventeen and a full-fledged Kuja warrior who has learned all three forms of Haki. Instead of becoming a pirate on the Kuja ship, she has decided to pursue her own adventures. As her family and friends bid her farewell, Flora leaves Amazon Lily on a small ship pulled by a Yuda so she can cross the Belt of Calm if she wishes. She brings with her a dagger, a sword, a snake that transforms into a bow, a quiver of arrows, and food packs consisting mostly of meat. She decides to find her father's old acquaintances. She heads to East Blue and her first destination is Foosha Village where she will meet Makino, Woop Slap, and her great-grandfather, Garp.
One Piece FigureCome seeA word from Fliu: To be honest, I don't know what Oda has planned for the future, and I don't expect my fan stories to be canon with Oda's story. As for Flora's appearance, just think of her as a female version of Luffy. And like all Kuja warriors, she wears a cape and dresses in revealing clothes.
– Luffy and Hancock, episode 2: Luffy visits Amazon Lily
Wikia user Fliu has written a fan fiction on his personal blog about Luffy's hypothetical daughter with Boa Hancock, and it is called Monkey D. Flora. This is a piece of his story; from this, you can see that it has nothing to do with the One Piece franchise and is simply a fan fiction. Fan fiction is, admittedly, always fun to read, but it has nothing to do with the main series, so it can be confirmed that Luffy does not have a daughter and that Monkey D. Flora does not even exist in the story.
A character named Flora exists in the larger non-canon One Piece universe, as she appeared in the 2014 One Piece Premier Show, but she—even in that play—has absolutely nothing to do with Luffy.
