Oozora Subaru is a VTuber and a member of Hololive 2nd generation. After her debut in September 2018, she gained an impressive fan base who appreciate her seemingly endless energy and tomboyish personality. As of April 2021, Subaru has accumulated over 800,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, making her the second most-followed member of Hololive 2nd generation.

Oozora Subaru debuted on YouTube on September 17, 2018, and introduced herself as the leader of her school's MMA and esports clubs. While the growth of most VTubers who initially joined Hololive was quite slow, Subaru finally celebrated her first major milestone, 100,000 subscribers, on October 23, 2019. Since then, Subaru, like many other members, has seen a significant increase in subscribers, going from 100,000 subscribers in October 2019 to over 500,000 by the end of 2020. Physical description of the Oozora Subaru

Although she has several different outfits, Oozora Subaru is always depicted as a 17-year-old girl with short, straight brown hair and teal eyes with green and red highlights. Her original outfit consists of white and red short shorts and a long neon green and white striped T-shirt accented with red and teal around its edges. This outfit also comes with a variety of accessories, such as a whistle and stopwatch that hang around her neck, a matching baseball cap that Subaru wears backward, and a towel and green megaphone that hang at her side.

In addition to her original outfit, Subaru also often wears a second outfit that she received in July 2019. This outfit consists of a sleeveless gray top and short blue shorts with straps that go over her shoulders. The top is also adorned with a black and gold bow with a large star in the center. Her baseball cap is also replaced with a gray hat with a black and red ribbon tied around it. Rather than her classic short, straight hair, this outfit features one side of Subaru's hair worn in a small braid that is tied with a star-themed hair accessory.

As you'd expect from an MMA gym manager, Subaru is an incredibly energetic girl with a rather tomboyish personality. On top of that, she's also very outgoing and isn't afraid to be the one to strike up conversations with others. Her seemingly boundless energy is especially evident in her 3D streams, where she's seen jumping around, dancing passionately, and more. Aside from her boundless energy, Subaru is also widely known for her unusually raspy voice, which has been compared to Donald Duck's whenever she makes ASMR content. This, among other things, eventually led Subaru to become closely associated with ducks within the Hololive community. Despite her laid-back, tomboyish tendencies, Subaru also hosts many streams where she simply talks with viewers about her day and whatever's on her mind. In these streams, she often shows off her softer, more feminine side.

Associated company

Oozora Subaru is one of the 50 members of Hololive Productions, a VTuber agency owned and operated by a company called Cover Corporation. Although its CEO originally founded the company to produce AR and VR software, he was inspired by the success of virtual characters like Kizuna Ai and idol groups like AKB48 and refocused the company on creating virtual idols. Many Hololive members have participated in livestream concerts and uploaded original songs in addition to their regular livestreams and video uploads.

Although she hesitated to do so for a long time, Subaru eventually dove into the world of Granblue Fantasy , perhaps after being persuaded by other gacha fanatics like Shirakami Fubuki and Suisei of Hoshimachi . Her first Granblue Fantasy stream took place on December 16, 2020, and became the first of many streams where she does nothing but pull gacha and play the various minigames Granblue has to offer. Although she didn't understand the appeal of gacha games beforehand, Subaru admits that she has since become addicted to them.

The Legend of Zelda

Starting on September 20, 2020, Subaru began playing The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and noted that she enjoyed the series overall and would like to play more Zelda games via streaming. Over the next few months, she would finish The Wind Waker and move on to The Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask . Since Subaru streamed each game multiple times a week as she worked through them, her The Legend of Zelda playthroughs became a fairly regular series on her channel for a while.
