Pokemon Amiibo Merchandise

Pokémon is one of the most well-known and popular franchises around, so it's no surprise that several amiibo recreating some of the most iconic creatures have been created. Amiibo is Nintendo's line of figurines with an NFC chip that allows them to communicate with various Nintendo games and unlock a variety of different features, depending on the game being played. The figurines themselves recreate many different characters from Nintendo properties, although it began with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Since several Pokémon are playable characters in Super Smash Bros., several Pokémon-based amiibo have been released under the game's label instead of the Pokémon label. That said, amiibo for other Pokémon games have also been released, such as Detective Pikachu. Many fans enjoy the collectibility and functionality, so much so that when amiibo were first introduced, many retailers faced shortages. That said, most amiibo are now available in more common formats. Some of the most popular amiibo products include the "Pokémon Mewtwo amiibo with free Pikachu amiibo," the "Super Smash Bros. Both of these amiibo also have the ability to connect to a variety of Nintendo games and unlock many different features. For example, when used with Super Smash Bros., the player can battle an AI fighter, which they can then train into an incredibly strong opponent. When used with other games, these amiibo can unlock things like special bonus items and other additional content.

Super Smash Bros. Wave 4 amiibo - Charizard (US version)

This Charizard amiibo is also part of the Super Smash Bros. amiibo series, but features the Pokémon as it appears in the Pokémon series. The figure depicts Charizard standing with both arms outstretched in front of its body while its flaming tail curls around its side. Charizard's wings are also spread wide, making it appear as if it's preparing to fly. This pose really showcases Charizard's strength and fighting ability, as it looks as if it's ready to strike at any moment.

Detective Pikachu Amiibo

This fun Detective Pikachu amiibo features a unique take on the iconic Pokémon, an intelligent Pokémon with its signature detective hat. Detective Pikachu poses upright with its feet firmly planted on the ground, while it holds out a hand and wears a slightly angry expression, giving the impression that it's trying to stop a suspect from going any further. This amiibo is listed in its own unique series, meaning it has several different uses from the previous amiibo. When used with the Detective Pikachu game, for example, this amiibo will unlock all available "Pika Prompts," which are short animated cutscenes in which the character speaks with the player character.

About Pokémon amiibo

While Pokémon is a separate series, there are currently no amiibo based on a Pokémon created as part of the Pokémon series itself. Instead, almost all Pokémon-based amiibo are created as part of the Super Smash Bros. series, as several Pokémon like Pikachu, Mewtwo, Lucario, Charizard, and others are all playable characters in the popular crossover fighting game. One of the only exceptions to this rule is the Detective Pikachu amiibo, which comes from the Pokémon spin-off featuring the titular character. That said, there are currently 12 unique amiibo figures based on various Pokémon. Since most of these amiibo are created as part of Super Smash Bros., the main connect feature allows players to create virtual fighters in the game that they can train, customize, and evolve, making them even stronger over time. Of course, Pokémon amiibo are also compatible with other Nintendo games, although the level of compatibility varies for each amiibo.
