Why is Komurasaki so important to Orochi?
One Piece: Why is Komurasaki so important to Orochi?

A despicable and hated character, Kurozumi Orochi was the shogun of Wano Country in One Piece. He was also an important ally of Kaidou before the Emperor turned against him. He is the third antagonist of the Wano Kuni Arc behind Linlin and Kaido. He was an ally of Kaido's pirates until the Onigashima Fire Festival, during which Kaido betrayed him and beheaded him for his New Onigashima project. Unfortunately, Orochi survived and would later return with his plan to destroy Onigashima. But this article will not focus on Orochi's plans, as we will tell you who Komurasaki was and why she was so important to Orochi.
To hide her true identity, Hiyori disguised herself as a courtesan named Komurasaki. Orochi was in love with her and wanted to marry her, but had her killed when she defied him; he did not know that she had never been killed. When he heard her play her shamisen, he crept towards her, hoping to have her by his side again, but he was shocked when he discovered her true identity moments before he was killed by Kazenbo.
The rest of this article will focus on Komurasaki and her relationship with Orochi in One Piece. We'll walk you through their shared history, how it developed, and how it ended in fire and chaos, just as Orochi deserved. This article will contain some spoilers, so if you're not fully up to date, you've been warned.
Komurasaki and Orochi had a strange relationship
They didn't know each other before the banquet, but they'd always wanted to meet ever since they heard about it. The Shogun fell under his spell. Orochi, of course, didn't know who Komurasaki was because she hid her true identity with her mask. Orochi was originally in love with Komurasaki and wanted to make her his wife.
However, when Orochi attacked Toko for a trivial reason, Komuraski slapped him across the face, angering the shogun. From then on, Orochi refused to make her his wife unless she apologized, but because of her beauty, Orochi gave her the opportunity to beg for mercy, which she refused, sending her into another fit of rage. However, her fury increased further when Kyoshiro ended her life without her permission. Of course, he didn't know that Kyoshiro had never killed Komuraski, but he still sincerely mourned her "death," despite their fight.
Unbeknownst to Orochi, Komurasaki was actually Kozuki Hiyori, the daughter of his most hated enemy, Oden. Komurasaki would not appear before Orochi for a long time. However, after Kanjuro's death and sometime during Kazenbo's fiery rampage on Onigashima, Orochi heard the sound of a shamisen, the instrument Komurasaki played so well. It immediately lifted his spirits, and amidst all the chaos and destruction, he crawled to the source of the sound.

He didn't know who the player was, but when he saw it was Komurasaki, he was happy and began to cry with joy. So, after discovering that Komurasaki had never died, Orochi was happy and relieved; Komurasaki greeted him with a smile when he first approached her as she played "Moon Princess" on the shamisen, which was Orochi's favorite song. While he was distracted by his playing, she planted a Sea Stone in him, preventing him from using his Devil Fruit powers. But Orochi soon found himself under a pile of rubble resulting from his own actions.
While trapped under that pile of rubble, Komurasaki coldly revealed that she had never loved him and eventually removed her mask in front of him, revealing her true identity as Kozuki Hiyori. After revealing that she was Kozuki Oden's daughter, Orochi became furious and declared his intention to kill her. Love was gone, and the only thing that saved his life at that moment was the Sea Stone, even though it would soon fall, allowing Orochi to transform. In this form, he was stopped by Denjiro, who cut off his head one last time and left him to die.
At that moment, Kazenbo would appear, though he was about to disappear himself, and Orochi would order the small drawing to burn Hiyori. However, Kazenbo ignored him and went to seek comfort from his master, accidentally setting him ablaze. Kazenbo died, and Hiyori had the opportunity to witness Orochi's death in person. She said she wanted to kill him herself, but even though she couldn't, she saw him die in front of her.
Komurasaki hated Orochi, and Orochi didn't even know he hated her.
Now, let's talk more about their relationship. As you can see, the two of them had a very strange relationship, a result of Hiyori's disguise and Orochi's narcissistic stupidity. And while it seemed like Komurasaki and Orochi loved each other, the real truth was completely different. The only problem was that Hiyori was aware of her true feelings for Orochi. On the other hand, Orochi had absolutely no idea that he actually hated Komurasaki—the person she really was.

Hiyori holds a great deal of hatred and loathing for Orochi, not only because he was one of the two men responsible for the unjust deaths of her parents, but also because of Orochi's twisted cruelty towards the people of Wano Country, who were tyrannically oppressed by being forced to live in wastelands, serve as slaves to the Beast Pirates, and subsist on scraps of food.
Hiyori tearfully confided to Zoro that Orochi's most heinous crime was causing so much suffering to the poor and taking away their ability to express their pain. Orochi even went so far as to give them defective SMILE fruits to prevent them from expressing their sadness and despair at suffering and dying of starvation and disease. And this is why Kumorasaki was so important to Orochi until he discovered who she was, but she nevertheless played a major role in his downfall.
