Attack on Titan on PS3

Attack on Titan is a single-player action hack and slash video game that can also be played online. The game is based on the internationally successful Japanese manga series Attack on Titan , both written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It was released on February 18, 2016, in Japan for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. Subsequent versions for Xbox and Microsoft were released later, followed by the Western version released in North America and Europe in August 2016. The game's sequel, Attack on Titan 2, was released worldwide on March 20, 2018, for the next-generation PlayStation 4 console.

The game was developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo. The game captures the brutal essence and fast-paced action of the anime, blending the manga's story with a completely original ending.

Plot

The game is based on the manga "Attack on Titan" and tells the first four arcs of the series, including: Shiganshina Fall Arc None Trost District Battle Arc None 104th Training Corps Arc and The Female Titan Arc These are chapters 1 to 34 and also covered by the first season of the anime Some original twists are also to be discovered in the video game.

Gameplay

The battles take place on a brutal and merciless battlefield where the situation is constantly changing. Every strategic decision the player makes will be directly linked to a new and exciting action. The approximately 15-hour campaign covers all the key plot events from the first season of the anime. Eren Jaeger and his crew join the army to fight the Titans and face new threats.

The player controls the Titans' combo of hitting, targeting, and neck-slapping by controlling the "omnidirectional mobility device" created specifically for Titan battles. The player can move freely and practically fly across the map, tracking down targets and quickly executing them. The engagements are fast-paced, but that doesn't mean fighting Titans is easy. Each type of Titan presents its own unique challenge, whether it's a large, crawling Titan or a tough-necked boss Titan. The diversity makes the more standard hunting missions interesting and makes the game unexpected and exciting for players.

Playable characters

There are a total of ten playable characters from the series in this game, which are:

  • Eren Jaeger - The main protagonist of the series.
  • Mikasa Ackermann - Eren's adoptive sister who joined the 104th Training Corps with Eren.
  • Armin Arlert - Eren's childhood friend who also joined the 104th Training Corps.
  • Jean Kirschtein - A hot-tempered character with opposing ideals to Eren.
  • Connie Springer - Comes from the Ragako district of Wall Rose. He joined Eren in the Survey Corps.
  • Sacha Braus - A hunter from the mountainous Dauper district. Skilled with a bow but has problems with authority.
  • Krista Lenz - A nice girl who joined the 104th Training Corps, probably as self-punishment.
  • Levi Ackermann - Leader of an elite Survey Corp squad.
  • Hange Zoe - A scientist who has studied Titans and is a veteran of the Survey Corps. Leader of Squad 4.
  • Erwin Smith - Commander of the Survey Corps.

Each of the ten playable characters has their own fighting style that reflects their personality. For example, Armin Arlert is a better tactician than a fighter, so he has the ability to send members of his team to attack a point in his place. On the other hand, Levi Ackermann is one of the most powerful fighters, so he can perform a unique attack combo after his first hit. This specialization makes the characters more authentic.
