In it, we will explore Kaido's powers and abilities, more specifically those related to his Uo Uo no Mi, model: Seiryu. We all know Kaido's famous dragon form, but he also has a very specific and powerful human-dragon hybrid form. This form will be the subject of this article, as we explain in this article.

Namely, this is a very powerful Devil Fruit, and in order to fully explain Kaido's forms, we must explain the Devil Fruit behind it. After that, in our second section, we will focus on the hybrid form itself and how powerful it is. Kaido's Uo Uo no Mi, model: Seiryu explained!

The Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu is a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows its user to transform fully or partially into an Eastern Dragon, more precisely into an Azure Dragon (Seiryu). It was consumed by Kaidou. The fruit is somewhat pointy and composed of several pointed pieces similar to a dragon's scales, cyan in color with a darker interior where the spirals are located. It has orange greenery at its base and, unlike the rest of the Devil Fruits, it has a double purple stem.

The fruit allows its user to transform into a massive, dark blue oriental dragon, easily reaching several dozen meters in length. One of the fruit's main abilities is the ability to create clouds of flame, which can allow its user to perform apparent flight by landing on them and even make objects float, even levitating an island as large as Onigashima. The dragon form grants its user abysmal resistance, being damaged only by attacks imbued with high-level Busoshoku Haki.

The user also has access to a number of elemental attacks that can be unleashed from their mouth. The most common is a gigantic eruption with immeasurable destructive power. They can also generate invisible lightning and air knives powerful enough to cleanly slice off the arm of a fighter like Kikunojo.

Due to the enormous amount of space the user occupies after assuming their full beast form, their ability to move in enclosed spaces is greatly hampered. Furthermore, depending on how carefully they care for their surroundings, the user's transformed body is prone to collateral damage and can become a liability to their allies. Such a massive body also leaves more openings, making them an easier target for attacks, especially multi-directional attacks from multiple enemies. Additionally, the user's signature ability to launch flames of fire can be countered by an opponent who knows Flame Cut. In addition to all these factors, the user is affected by standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

What is Kaido's hybrid form in One Piece?

The Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu allows Kaido to transform into the "Azure Dragon", which is his base form. In his dragon form, Kaido resembles a blue oriental dragon as large as a city. His expressions, however, remain human, and he also retains his original horns (assuming they are from his human form), with the other horns not present in his human form.

The hybrid form grants the user increased speed and agility, allowing them to use their abilities more effectively in melee combat. However, the strength of the draconic form is reduced and focused on a smaller scale. The user can still access elemental attacks, albeit at a reduced range and power proportional to their body size.

In combat, Kaidou frequently used his powers. He typically begins battles in his full metamorphosis and then reverts to his original form, unlike most Zoan-type fruit users observed so far. Indeed, his base form seems more suited to close-quarters, one-on-one combat. Kaidou stays far away from his opponents when facing them in his full dragon form, launching deadly elemental strikes from his mouth, usually a blast of fire, to strike them.
