Alternative title

The Great

Synopsis

Maïtetsu The action takes place in an alternate reality in Japan, where railways have been forgotten and abandoned after the emergence of a new means of transportation. Migita Sotetsu returns to his hometown of Ohitoyo after hearing that an industrial plant is to be built along a historic river. His goal is to change the minds of the locals and prevent the plant from being built, believing instead that the town would thrive if it had an independent way to boost the economy instead of relying on a factory. One day, while going through his late adoptive father's belongings, he stumbles upon a girl named Hachiroku, an android-like being called "Railllord." Together, the two begin to forge a deep bond as they work together to restore Ohitoyo to its former glory.

Featuring new original characters, the anime takes place in the fictional town of Ohitoyo, south of Hinomoto, after its successful revitalization. The town plans to host the first-ever Maitetsu Festival to bring together Raillords and their masters from across the region, and Suzushiro and other famous Raillords are hard at work planning a "Raillord Summit" in parallel.
