Synopsis

Yoko is the daughter of Koji Amami, the free-spirited owner of Rainy Color Coffee. When her father takes an impromptu trip to Hawaii, she finds herself forced to manage the coffee shop in his place. Now it's up to Yoko and her friends to keep the business running smoothly. Thus begin their days filled with hearts running the cafe and doing what they can to help those around them.

Background

Rainy Cocoa began as a manga series published by I AM that debuted in May 2013. The manga has received four anime adaptations to date: Rainy Cocoa aired from April to June 2015, Rainy Cocoa: Welcome to Rainy Color aired from October to December 2015, Rainy Cocoa Hawaii which aired from October to December 2016, and Rainy Cocoa: Amecon!! which aired from October to December 2017. Each season consisted of 12 episodes.

Rainy Cocoa's G-Side is the fifth season of the anime adaptation and, unlike previous seasons, will feature an all-female main cast. The anime was announced in April 2018 and is once again produced by studio EMT Squared with Hisashi Ishii directing, Saeka Fujimoto writing the script, and Eri Tokugawa designing the characters. The anime will premiere in Japan on January 9, 2019, on Tokyo MX and Sun TV.

Characters

Yoko Amami (Voice of: Eriko Matsui)

The daughter of Rainy Color Cafe owner Koji Amami, who takes over as cafe manager. She hates dogs.

**Meru Kashiwagi (Voiced by: Aina Suzuki)

A young girl who lives near Rainy Color. She asks Yoko and her friends to help her find her lost cat, Cocoa.

No (Voice of: Miharu Hanai)

Yoko's friend who works with her at the cafe. She has a calm personality and is a talented artist.

Marina (Voice of: Maria Yamada)

Yoko's friend who works with her at the cafe. She is a bit of a tsundere and is preoccupied with the size of her breasts, often comparing them to those around her.

Ikumi (Voice of: Chiaki Omigawa)

Keito's friend.

Keïto (Voice of: Nichika Omori)

A cool beauty who has met Yoko and her friends several times. She seems interested in Yoko.

Cacao (Voiced by: Natsuko Hara)

Meru's domestic cat.

Koji Amami (Voice of: Ryo Horikawa)

The owner of the Rainy Color cafe. He enjoys traveling abroad and his hobby is collecting antiques and artwork from different countries. He has a free-spirited personality and often gets drawn into situations without realizing it.
