About Rogue
Rogue's story is one of heartbreak and struggle. She fights not only to keep her sanity, but also to move on with her life. Here's a closer look!
Background
Rogue was born Anna Marie into a hippie commune in Mississippi. The community attempted to use Native American mysticism, which led to her mother's disappearance. From there, she was raised by her aunt and father, with whom she didn't have a good relationship. Rogue took matters into her own hands and ran away. She discovered her powers a little later, along with the realization that she literally couldn't touch anyone. Her envy and bitterness turned to anger, so she joined the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, even battling the X-Men. She accidentally permanently absorbed Ms. Marvel's powers, even absorbing some of her mentality into her own. To deal with the voices in her head, she turned to Professor X and even joined the X-Men. It was there that she met Gambit, and they fell in love.
Special Abilities
Rogue's special ability is to absorb the power and life force of others by making direct contact. What she didn't anticipate was that she also absorbed the person's thoughts, ideas, and memories. When she absorbed someone's powers, she could then use them as her own.
Other important X-Men characters
As an X-Men character, Rogue interacts with most of the cast, such as Cyclops and other main characters. However, her love interest and future husband, Gambit, is one of the most important characters to Rogue. Magneto, her former savior, is also important to her.
Remy LaBeau - Gambit
Abandoned as a baby because of his red eyes, Remy ends up in a New Orleans orphanage. There, he is taken in by a street gang and learns their ways until the gang's leader adopts him. He was supposed to marry the daughter of the leader of the Assassin gang, but her brother opposes this, trying to kill Remy. Remy kills him in self-defense and is exiled from New Orleans. However, he needs help controlling his powers, so he goes to Mr. Sinister, who removes part of his brain. Afterward, he tries to work for Mr. Sinister, who tries to make him commit a massacre. Instead, he tries to save them, but only saves one girl. From there, he meets Storm, who will sponsor his entry into the X-Men, where he meets Rogue.
Max Eisenthardt - Magneto
The man is known as the most powerful mutant on Earth. He also spontaneously proposed to Rogue in the middle of a fight. They had a brief relationship when he rescued a helpless Rogue in the Savage Land. She only promised him one night, but when they met later, they had a brief relationship. Since Rogue was going to marry Gambit, she naturally turned Magneto down, but not before sharing a passionate kiss.
