Roy Alphard is an Archbishop of Sin of Gluttony focused on the aspect of bizarre eating. He has green eyes with a yellow center and long, messy, dark brown hair. He generally appears young, but has a very intense expression that has been described as a mischievous grin. His clothing appears to consist of simple garments with little decoration. Much like the other two Archbishops of Sin, they speak collectively and use "we" and "us" when referring to themselves (even in the singular).

Gluttony

The archbishops of the sin of gluttony each focus on a distinct aspect of consumption. Roy's aspect is bizarre eating , and he has absolutely no standards for what he eats and simply desires to eat a lot. He doesn't care about the quality of food like Loi Batenkaitos or who he eats with like Louis Arneb. Fueled by hunger and having the least discerning taste of the trio, there is very little that can deter Roy from doing everything in his power to continue eating.

History

Little has been revealed about Roy's past. He first appears in the story during the events of Arc 4. He intercepted Subaru None Crusch , and Jules as they pursued Chapelle . Julius fought him head-on while the other two continued the chase. While the other Archbishops of Sin acted as large targets, Roy (and Ley) often fought on the ground level and generally caused chaos. Their power as Archbishops of Sin meant that they were difficult to ignore and had to be dealt with lest they completely destroy any kind of network the heroes were trying to set up.
Eventually, even their terrifying power was pushed beyond its limits. Roy and Ley were on the verge of defeat when Louis intervened and negotiated with the heroes. Although both Ley and Roy were exhausted, Louis threatened to make Eclipse 's powers disappear, but he was still capable of completely destroying everyone in the fight. After this, the Archbishops of the Sin of Gluttony retreated from Priestella and managed to escape unharmed, despite having already managed to feast on a limited amount by then.
The following events are not yet canonical as they are currently only depicted in the web novel and the light novel has yet to catch up. The Gluttony siblings don't rest for long, and even though Subaru and his friends go to the Pleiades Watchtower to find answers, Ley and Roy attack it with a horde of demonic beasts. Unfortunately, this sequence of events is not yet concluded at this point and remains to be written.

Relationships

Batenkaitos Law - Ley is Roy's brother and is also an archbishop of the sin of gluttony and represents the gourmet aspect Roy does not share Ley's opinion on emphasizing who he eats.
Louis Arneb - Louis is Roy's sister and is also an archbishop of the sin of gluttony and represents the aspect of satiety . Roy does not share Louis's philosophy on food, as it is not "what you ate" that matters, but rather "who you ate with."

SKILLS

Gluttony Authority - Roy possesses the authority of gluttony and is able to devour an opponent's name and memories. He currently possesses a vast amount of skills and talents accumulated through this power. Eclipse is gluttony's trump card, and the full extent of this ability has yet to be revealed, though parts of it have already been activated, and Otto described the feeling it provoked as something sinister on a whole other level.
Acquired Skill - Roy uses all the martial arts techniques and magic he has consumed every time he fights. This does not include Spirit Arts or Divine Wards . Examples of his abilities are King Fist Palm (a powerful martial technique acquired from Neiji Rockheart) and Twin Sword Serpent (allowing him to launch multiple combined slashes at extremely high speeds).

Roy uses two claws attached to his hands. He is dexterous, fast, and light, making him a terribly dangerous and agile opponent. He also has daggers hidden in his clothes.
