Ryuk Death Note - Nendoroid

The super popular fantasy detective anime Death Note first aired on October 3, 2006. Due to the original storytelling, the series gained great popularity as it wasn't a typical detective story. Death Note is a story of mind games and shows people's true nature. One of the popular characters and also the mascot of the series is Ryuk. Ryuk is a god of death who is very bored and wants to entertain himself in the human world. Despite his slightly creepy appearance, he has a very cute side where he loves to eat apples and tries to act cute. Due to his popularity, all kinds of products have been released based on his design and one of the most popular products is "Nendoroid Ryuk." This is a figure that shows the smaller and cuter version of Ryuk as a Nendoroid.

Nendoroid Ryuk

Enjoy the cute, nerdy, but also creepy Nendoroid Ryuk. He has been painted black, gray, and blue to recreate the unique god of death from the Death Note series. His skin has been painted a mix of gray and blue, with his head being a lighter blue color. His clothes and wings are black, with his wings being able to be posed. His jaw can also be posed to show his large red tongue inside. His lips are dark gray, and his teeth are white and sharp. His eyes are yellow with a red pupil to recreate him from the series. There are also additional optional features to bring Ryuk to life with his favorite food, a bright red apple that can be whole or just the core to show that he has eaten it. He can also hold his Death Note in his hand. The stand that comes with Ryuk also makes it appear as if he is flying through the air to further recreate some of the fan-favorite scenes.

About Ryuk

Ryuk is a very bored god of death. He wants to be entertained and seeks entertainment in the human world. Ryuk is a very laid-back god of death; he doesn't force Light, the one who retrieved the Death Note, to do anything. He was just very pleasantly surprised to see that Light had written a lot of names and killed a lot of humans. Most of the humans who receive the Death Note try to test it but are afraid of its power. He finds Light's plan to try to change the world amusing and greatly enjoys watching things unfold. Although he seems relaxed and enjoys the way things are going, Ryuk is not an ally of Light. He seems to help Light sometimes, but in the end, Ryuk is a god of death.

About Ryuk: Background

Ryuk can be cunning and tricked the King of the Death Gods into giving him another Death Note. Ryuk planned to drop his Death Note in the human world but wanted to keep another one in case something happened. He then randomly dropped the Death Note in the human world to see if anything interesting would happen. The world the Death Gods live in is very boring; they either play, sleep, or look for humans to kill to prolong their lives. Ryuk was very bored with such a repetitive and monotonous life and decided to spice things up.

About Ryuk: Abilities

Ryuk holds a Death Note that can kill humans simply by writing their names in the notebook. To use the Death Note, they must know the name and face of the person they are going to kill, otherwise the Death Note will not work. Since Ryuk is a god of death, his eyes have the power to see any person's name and lifespan above their head. He is also able to materialize and touch things, and if he wishes, he can pass through objects. Ryuk is also able to live for a very long time as long as he continues to kill humans. The lives of the humans he kills with the Death Note, he is then able to add the remaining lifespan to his own, allowing him to live a long life.

Other important characters in Death Note

Ryuk is a god of death and can only be seen by other gods of death and if a human has touched his death note. Light picks up the death note that Ryuk dropped, so he follows him everywhere and they spend a lot of time together. As the second Kira, Misa gains the ability to see Ryuk and is also the next to possess Ryuk's death note, which makes him stay near her instead of Ryuk.

Yagami Light

Yagami Light is the owner of Ryuk's Death Note and is also the one who brings Ryuk the most entertainment. Since Ryuk was so bored in the world of the gods of death, he greatly appreciates Light's actions, as he is a god of death and does not care about human lives.

Misa Amane

Ryuk doesn't think much of Misa Amane. Aside from sometimes providing her with her favorite apples, he knows that Light only sees her as a pawn and doesn't hesitate to make her lose half her health to obtain the eyes of his god of death. Even though Ryuk is a god of death, he is still a man and can sometimes feel embarrassed when Misa expresses too much affection and physical contact.
